A gloriously appointed, four bedroom fully detached family villa. Impeccably striking inside and out, all three storeys brim with vintage style and sleek designer flourishes. It's all enviably located in the Aldersbrook Edwardian estate.

You're surrounded by open green space here, with the natural expanse of Wanstead Park starting just five minutes from your front door. Venture further for Heronry Pond, Chalet Wood, Wanstead Golf Club and and more highlights all within easy reach.

IF YOU LIVED HERE…

Your kerbside views are immediately impressive, with that flawless brick frontage, original timber trim and stained glass in the front door highlighting the property's original architecture. Inside you have a lovely broad hallway and everything has been artfully extended and developed. Your 230 square foot front lounge features a stately dark palette, ornate timber mantel and classic herringbone floors, with a striking statement chimney breast providing a lively splash of colour.

Moving on, your immense open plan kitchen will take your breath away again. More than 400 square feet in all, with a huge skylight and one entire rear wall of Crittal doors flooding every inch with natural light. Startling jade marbled counters and splashbacks draw the eye, sitting atop a substantial central chef's island and breakfast bar. Sleek dark cabinetry runs at floor level, with bespoke gloss timber units up top. Ash blonde engineered hardwood runs underfoot, and onyx tower radiators complete the aesthetic.

Slide those patio doors back to open the whole space to the garden, where a pristine smokey grey patio blurs the line between interior and exterior design. Bespoke timber fencing and riotous, thriving greenery flows down the sides, flanking your substantial expanse of lawn as it stretches away through mature trees to perimeter fencing at the back. Back inside, and your ground floor's completed by a bright, essential utility room. Upstairs now for the sleeping arrangements.

Your principal bedroom sits to the front, over 200 square feet and finished in tranquil smoky grey, with classic timber shutters on the elegant bay window. Bedroom two's another double, 150 square feet and similarly styled, while your 110 square foot third sleeper would comfortably take pole position in a lesser property. Your family bathroom features a spa-style tub finished in glossy mosaics. Up your skylit second staircase and the loft suite is fit for a king. Pristine in white with onyx trim, gorgeous views and lots of storage. Finally, the en suite shower room completes things in style, skylit and flawless.

a word from the expert...

"Being a country girl at heart, for me Wanstead is the perfect blend of village/city living. With excellent transport links into the city, I often meet up with friends to explore the wonders of London. But I also enjoy going for long, leafy walks with Hollow Ponds and Wanstead Park on my doorstep. I was first attracted to Wanstead by its charming High Street, lush green spaces and choice of excellent schools. Since moving here, I have discovered some new favourites — for breakfast La Bakerie, lunch at Otto and The Duke for the best roast around. I love to stay active, and here in Wanstead you have lots to choose from. From organised yoga at Christ Church Green, personal training sessions at Target Fit or jogging around the various nature trails of Epping Forest. There is a great sense of community here in Wanstead, with informative Facebook groups, street parties, a monthly farmers’ market and the local jumble trail. I have made many friends locally, there is a genuine community spirit here and I am proud to call Wanstead my home." KYLI CLAYTON E11 BRANCH MANAGER

Our Local Guide:
Wanstead

Woodlands Avenue, Wanstead — Stow Brothers

Thanks to its royal connections and grand properties, Wanstead has previously been compared to the likes of Twickenham and Richmond, although East Londoners are quick to point out that it has plenty enough merits of its own.

For a start, despite its villagey feel, it’s proudly nestled within London’s most creative quadrant and only a short hop on the Central line from the bright lights of the City. There’s also an abundance of green space – Wanstead Flats, Epping Forest, Wanstead Park and Chalet Wood, with the seasonal display of bluebells in the latter just calling out for an accompanying picnic from one of the well-stocked local delis or cafes. But that’s not to say that Wanstead’s charming pubs and restaurants aren’t delightful to look at themselves – it’ll be deciding which to go for that’s the problem.
