A magnificent four bedroom Edwardian detached home, encircled by the glorious green spaces of Wanstead Heath. With beautiful period features in harmony with sleek modern luxuries, this could be the finest home for many miles.

There's something in every lovingly finished room to provide delight and comfort, and a perfect balance of the original and the brand new. Swathes of resin coated, artfully poured concrete and Farrow & Ball paint effortlessly complement ornate original plasterwork and cast iron fireplaces. The luxuriant unfolding spaces inside are matched by the long meander of the garden, and your location, nestled within acres of greenery, couldn't be better.

You'll step into your hallway, admire the ornate Design & Decor and find the first of your three receptions on the right. This one sits to the front, bathed by the large bay window with stained glass inlaid, and offers 200 square foot of bright, breathtaking space. A stove sits in the grand fireplace. Sliding glass Crittal style doors reveal your second reception of 155 square foot. Pass through from here into your third reception. This space is 340 square foot, featuring the designer Bulthaup Kitchen workbench, with an immense Crittal style window to the garden making it perfect for cooking, dining and entertaining.

Step down from here into your garden, where a stretch of hardwood decking gives on to perfect lawn framed by mature bedding. Wander to the end and find a delightful summer house. Back through the reception space is your enviable Bulthaup kitchen of 115 square foot. Within the shining stainless steel sits a Siemens double oven, Quooker tap and Bosch dishwasher. Geometric tiling lies underfoot. Past the WC neatly tucked under the stairs, you'll note the utility space in the cellar, a practical space of eighty square foot.

Climbing to the first floor you'll find your first bedroom to the left, over 100 square foot with a view of the garden and bespoke storage to one corner. Next to that is your second bedroom, also overlooking the garden, and offering more than 155 square foot of tranquil space. Your third bedroom of over 190 square foot sits to the front with its own bay window, and walls in soft plaster pink.

Alongside sits your bathroom, with marbled tiling and traditional white suite. A cast iron clawfoot rolltop tub with Aston Matthews fittings is the star. Up once more into the impeccably converted loft space, you'll find a study sitting at the top of the stairs. This leads to your fourth bedroom, a splendid 175 square foot double in soft blue grey. Bespoke storage sits to one corner and twin Velux skylights lie above. Your en suite has a large dedicated shower, and marble tiling underfoot.

You are equidistant from Wanstead and Leytonstone stations for the Central Line, taking you to Stratford in seven minutes and to Liverpool Street in twenty. All your amenities are close at hand here, along with several excellent local pubs. The Leytonstone Festival happens once a year and offers a feast of arts and music. And of course just a few moments from your door in any direction you'll find the natural haven of Wanstead Heath.

- You've got a great choice of schools nearby with many rated 'Outstanding' or 'Good' by Ofsted, including Wanstead Church School, Davies Lane Primary and Aldersbrook Primary.
- Among the many delights of Winchelsea Road, just a twelve minute stroll across the flats, is the modestly named Pretty Good Beer, an independent craft brewery and taproom with a tempting range of seasonal offerings. Also under these lovely old railway arches is the much loved Arch Rivals restaurant and artisanal dough-slingers Wild Goose Bakery will tempt your tastebuds with a range of homemade delights.
- If you're looking to take up or keep up an outdoor sport, you'll be pleased to discover riding stables, tennis and golf clubs within easy walking distance.

word from the expert

"Being a country girl at heart, for me Wanstead is the perfect blend of village/city living. With excellent transport links into the city, I often meet up with friends to explore the wonders of London. But I also enjoy going for long, leafy walks with Hollow Ponds and Wanstead Park on my doorstep. I love to stay active, and here in Wanstead you have lots to choose from. From organised yoga at Christ Church Green, personal training sessions at Target Fit or jogging around the various nature trails of Epping Forest. There is a great sense of community here in Wanstead, with informative Facebook groups, street parties, a monthly farmers’ market and the local jumble trail. I have made many friends locally, there is a genuine community spirit here and I am proud to call Wanstead my home." KYLI CLAYTON E11 ASSISTANT BRANCH MANAGER

Our Local Guide:

Windsor Road, Wanstead — Stow Brothers

Thanks to its royal connections and grand properties, Wanstead has previously been compared to the likes of Twickenham and Richmond, although East Londoners are quick to point out that it has plenty enough merits of its own.

For a start, despite its villagey feel, it’s proudly nestled within London’s most creative quadrant and only a short hop on the Central line from the bright lights of the City. There’s also an abundance of green space – Wanstead Flats, Epping Forest, Wanstead Park and Chalet Wood, with the seasonal display of bluebells in the latter just calling out for an accompanying picnic from one of the well-stocked local delis or cafes. But that’s not to say that Wanstead’s charming pubs and restaurants aren’t delightful to look at themselves – it’ll be deciding which to go for that’s the problem.
