A flawlessly appointed three bedroom Victorian terrace, rich with the vintage features, ceiling heights and generous proportions of the period. You have dual bathrooms, a huge kitchen/diner and Forest Gate station just half a mile away on foot.

With your loft space so far unexplored you have plenty of scope to add your own whole new storey here, as some of your neighbours have done (subject to the usual permissions) making this a home to meet your needs for years to come.

IF YOU LIVED HERE...

You'll be enjoying more than 1200 square feet of artfully developed, elegantly finished living space. The standard is immediately high, with stained glass in your front door and ornate original moulding overhead in the hallway. The vintage features continue in your 180 square foot front lounge, with blonde hardwood floors, classic timber shutters on the bay window and a handsome vintage hearth taking centre stage.

Next door, your second reception's laid open to your beautifully bright, skylit kitchen/diner for a vast, 400 square foot hosting space. The hardwood floors give way to smoky tiling as you move towards the rear, with flanks of forest green and pine cabinets facing each other across the large dining area. Here's also where you access the garden, a flawlessly landscaped stretch of Trulawn running between timber fencing. Perfect for taking the party outside.

Back inside and the ground floor's completed by the first of your two bathrooms, smartly tiled from floor to ceiling with a shower over the L-shaped tub. Upstairs now, where your principal bedroom is pristine in white, naturally bright and home to another jet black vintage hearth. To the rear bedroom two is just as stylish and sizeable, while your third sleeper's a generous single, ideal for a child or home office. Finally, bathroom number two features immaculate metro tiling, a pedestal sink and corner shower.

WHAT ELSE?

- Forest Gate station is less than ten minutes' walk and will get you directly to Liverpool Street in thirteen via the Elizabeth line, putting the City less than half an hour away door to door. Heading to the West End? Tottenham Court Road is just five minutes further.
- At 120 square feet, your cellar's another intriguing development opportunity. We've seen spaces like this turned into everything from home offices to tiki bars.
- Local schools are excellent and plentiful, with twelve 'Outstanding' primary/secondaries all within a twenty minute walk.

a word from the expert...

"When I decided to move to Forest Gate a few years ago, I was drawn by the great housing stock, the green spaces of Wanstead Flats and the friendly, up-and-coming vibe of independent boutiques, eateries, and bars. I’ve spent many a happy weekend walking on the flats and in Wanstead Park. Often, I’ll finish up with an all-trimmings roast at The Holly Tree or meet friends for a drink at Burgess & Hall Wines (Roz and Paul there really know their grapes!). Or perhaps a fantastic curry from The Wanstead Kitchen. After living here for a while, you really start to feel happy and settled. I love the arty, independent feel of Forest Gate, and I get the impression I’m not the only one — it’s something all the locals nurture and support." JOSEPH EARNSHAW E7 BRANCH MANAGER

Our Local Guide:
Forest Gate

Whyteville Road, Forest Gate — Stow Brothers

If you’ve already heard Chiwetel Ejiofor or Idris Elba proudly discussing their hometown, you probably don’t need us to convince you of Forest Gate’s merits, but for those who haven’t, let us catch you up…

With a heritage rooted in culture, it’s not surprising that Forest Gate has a strong creative community today. During just one week in the 60s, the Upper Cut Club music venue there hosted – deep breath – The Who, the Animals, the Spencer Davis Group, Geno Washington and Jimi Hendrix. These days you’re more likely to find the area’s artistic-types supping drinks in the cool cafes and bars. Along with the period property and proximity to green space, this independent scene has been the main draw for new arrivals to the area, although the fact that Forest Gate is now on the Crossrail’s Elizabeth line has definitely helped nudge people in the right direction.
