"We’ve thoroughly enjoyed our time in vibrant Walthamstow. We chose Westbury Road because of its proximity to the tube (just 5 mins at a brisk walk), but it’s centrality has meant we are close to all the best parts of E17: Lloyd Park, the High Street, the Village as well as jogs around the Wetlands. Our toddler has particularly enjoyed countless hours at the Greenleaf Road playground, which is just around the corner, and afternoons in Epping Forest – just a short drive away.. We’ll be sad to leave all of this, as well as to not be here for the opening of the new Soho Theatre on Hoe Street, due to open in the coming months. The house itself is a good size, with high ceilings, on a quiet road and with a large garden. We’ve found the fact it’s semi-detached very useful for side-access with bikes etc. It’s got the potential to be extended both via a loft-conversion (as neighbours have done) and side-extension, which would increase the square footage considerably, whilst still having a well-sized garden."

Situated on the edge of spacious Epping Forest, but every inch urban London, Walthamstow is one of those rare locations where you can have your (artisan) cake and eat it too. 

Built from proper East End roots, the rapidly expanding community has transformed the area into a buzzy, creative hub and destination in its own right, making Walthamstow’s close proximity to central London less relevant than it perhaps once was (although if you must leave, it’s only a short hop on the Victoria line or London Overground). In fact, these days you’re more likely to see daytrippers coming into the area, keen to sample its varied offerings of food, drink, culture and green space. However, lucky locals get the added benefit of being part of a genuinely cheery community – and amongst the first to know about that latest hot new opening.
