An impressively finished, lovingly appointed and immensely characterful five bedroom family home, perfect for the largest and most demanding of clans. A substantial semi-detached, laid out over three floors with side access, large front driveway and private rear garden, this is a real find.

Your location is just as impressive as the substantial proportions. The busting heart of Wanstead, our ever-popular East London village, is just a three minute stroll away for superb transport links, open green spaces and an excellent choice of independent restaurants, bars and produce suppliers.

You'll be stretching out in nearly 1800 square feet of living space all finished with effortless style and packed with character. Your colossal kitchen/diner, unusually located to the front, is an immediate highlight; over thirty feet in length with the atmospheric sociable space to the fore bringing to mind an upmarket cafe while the kitchen itself is well stocked with handsome maple fitted cabinets, cream worktops and a matching breakfast bar.

To the rear, your 190 square foot lounge is another fine option for welcoming guests, with richly stripped walnut hardwood underfoot, a pleasant dual aspect and a wealth of natural light flooding in from the double French doors opening up right to your rear garden. And quite a garden it is too – your side return swells into a generous patio, with plenty of space for dining al fresco. In turn this gives way to a generous length of lush lawn, high timber fencing running down either side and an elaborate shed at the end.

Back inside and upstairs things are no less impressive – your master bedroom totals almost 200 square feet, with beautifully stripped floorboards underfoot, twin windows and some glorious bespoke floor to ceiling fitted storage for the most comprehensive of wardrobes. Both remaining first floor bedrooms are substantial doubles, with the one to the rear enjoying a dual aspect and pleasant garden view. Your family bathroom completes the storey, pristine in white (there's also a handy spare WC downstairs).

The extensive loft conversion offers a further two bedrooms. Your pristine penthouse double comes in at 250 square feet with soft grey engineered hardwood underfoot and a glittering array of recessed spotlights overhead. Dual aspect, with two large skylights and plenty of eaves storage, it's a fine space indeed. Completing the property is a second immaculate bathroom and your final bedroom, a generous seventy foot single with a lovely garden view.

Outside, and Wanstead High Street is just a three minute walk. Here you'll find a choice of supermarkets plus an artisanal butchers, dedicated fishmongers, a whole host of independent cafes serving up delectable home-made treats and a range of luxurious gastropubs from The Bull to former 19th century coaching inn The Cuckfield. There's even a traditional Pie & Mash shop – everything you could need right on your doorstep surrounded by plenty of open green spaces. Transport links are also superb – Snaresbrook station is just five minutes from your front door, and will get you straight to Liverpool Street in just sixteen.

- Wanstead schools are largely excellent. You have nine rated 'Good' or better less than a mile form your new home, with two deemed 'Outstanding', including the Wanstead Church School just five minutes on foot.
- As noted you have plenty of private parking in the form of a large driveway, and drivers can be on the North Circular in less than three minutes.
- The great green expanse of Epping Forest and the tranquil blue waters of Eagle Pond are just a half mile on foot, any time you fancy a morning jog, evening stroll or just getting back to nature.

"being a country girl at heart, for me wanstead is the perfect blend of village/city living. with excellent transport links into the city, i often meet up with friends to explore the wonders of london. but i also enjoy going for long, leafy walks with hollow ponds and wanstead park on my doorstep.

I was first attracted to Wanstead by its charming High Street, lush green spaces and choice of excellent schools. Since moving here, I have discovered some new favourites — for breakfast La Bakerie, lunch at Otto and The Duke for the best roast around. I love to stay active, and here in Wanstead you have lots to choose from. From organised yoga at Christ Church Green, personal training sessions at Target Fit or jogging around the various nature trails of Epping Forest. There is a great sense of community here in Wanstead, with informative Facebook groups, street parties, a monthly farmers’ market and the local jumble trail. I have made many friends locally, there is a genuine community spirit here and I am proud to call Wanstead my home." KYLI CLAYTON E11 BRANCH MANAGER

Our Local Guide:

Wellesley Road, Wanstead — Stow Brothers

Thanks to its royal connections and grand properties, Wanstead has previously been compared to the likes of Twickenham and Richmond, although East Londoners are quick to point out that it has plenty enough merits of its own.

For a start, despite its villagey feel, it’s proudly nestled within London’s most creative quadrant and only a short hop on the Central line from the bright lights of the City. There’s also an abundance of green space – Wanstead Flats, Epping Forest, Wanstead Park and Chalet Wood, with the seasonal display of bluebells in the latter just calling out for an accompanying picnic from one of the well-stocked local delis or cafes. But that’s not to say that Wanstead’s charming pubs and restaurants aren’t delightful to look at themselves – it’ll be deciding which to go for that’s the problem.
