A bright and beautifully finished two-bedroom ground floor Victorian conversion, situated moments from the heart of one of East London's most popular neighbourhoods, Wanstead.

As well as having excellent transport links, open green spaces and eateries nearby, the home boasts a beautifully landscaped, south-facing rear garden, stylish decor and period features throughout.

IF YOU LIVED HERE

You’ll be able to enjoy the immaculate finish from the day you move, whether it’s the engineered hardwood floors, bespoke carpentry, custom shutters, spotless decor or beautifully restored period features like the fire surrounds and ornate beading work.

You’ll appreciate the contemporary touches in the kitchen, which blend seamlessly with the traditional style. Likewise, the bathroom offers all of the modern convenience that you’d hope to find in a home - marbled-style tiling, a generous rainfall shower and a heated chrome towel rail. At the rear, you have a bright dining room and conservatory; over 90 square feet of summer entertaining space. This will surely become the heart of your home.

The garden is another show-stopper, with charming landscaping and mature foliage which brings a sense of glorious seclusion. Beyond the equally striking front door, if venture down your peaceful street to the village-esque hub of Wanstead you’ll feel a world away from the bustle of London life. With everything from farmer’s markets, cute pubs and lush greenery on your doorstep, it’s easy to forget that you're only a short journey away from the city. Snaresbrook tube station is less than a quarter of a mile away on foot for regular, fast, direct connections to the City and West End via the Central line. Liverpool Street station is just 16 minutes away, Tottenham Court Road only 25.

If you want to stay local, though, Gail’s Bakery will always be a winner on work from home days, but for a treat, book in for the excellent Provender Restaurant and Bombetta. There are many other option to explore as well.

You also have easy access to South Woodford, where you have even more amenities, including Marks & Spencer, Waitrose and an Art Deco Odeon cinema. Leyton and Walthamstow are both close to hand too.

WHAT ELSE?

-If you're driving, the North Circular is conveniently located, but not close enough to impact on all that peace and quiet.
-Your new local? How about the converted 19th century coaching inn The Cuckfield, which is a four minute stroll away. The Duke Wanstead is another great option, and just as near.
-The mix of independents and chains on the vibrant High Street means you’ll never be stuck for any last minute essentials.

a word from the owner...

"We have been very happy here and have enjoyed several years at this property, first as a couple and now as a young family. It's a spacious home with lots of much-needed storage and a beautiful view to a landscaped garden at the rear. We have enjoyed lots of breakfasts with a view, candle-lit dinners in the conservatory and summer days out in the garden. We love Wanstead village, it feels like a home away from the city, yet we are so well connected into central London with the underground just around the corner. We are so close to the highstreet and have really enjoyed the convenience and access to all of the local amenities on offer, such as the coffee shops, lunch spots, pubs and restaurants. We have so much greenery, such as Wanstead Park and the Leyton Flats, nearby and walk the local park, Wanstead Green, daily. The playpark there has been so much fun for our little one. We love the Wanstead community feel and have made lots of friends here through neighbours, NCT and other local baby/toddler groups. In fact, several of our own friends have moved out of central London and into this area over the past few years. We will be very sad to leave and will miss both Wanstead and this home dearly. We hope the next owners will love this home as much as we have."

Our Local Guide:
Wanstead

Wellesley Road, Wanstead — Stow Brothers

Thanks to its royal connections and grand properties, Wanstead has previously been compared to the likes of Twickenham and Richmond, although East Londoners are quick to point out that it has plenty enough merits of its own.

For a start, despite its villagey feel, it’s proudly nestled within London’s most creative quadrant and only a short hop on the Central line from the bright lights of the City. There’s also an abundance of green space – Wanstead Flats, Epping Forest, Wanstead Park and Chalet Wood, with the seasonal display of bluebells in the latter just calling out for an accompanying picnic from one of the well-stocked local delis or cafes. But that’s not to say that Wanstead’s charming pubs and restaurants aren’t delightful to look at themselves – it’ll be deciding which to go for that’s the problem.
