This handsome four bedroom Victorian terraced house with a huge back garden and garden studio is located in a quiet residential street close to the local shops of Chingford Mount and with easy access to Chingford, Highams Park and Walthamstow.

IF YOU LIVED HERE....

You’d have a generous 1,181 square feet of space set over four floors plus the garden studio. The property has been extended to the rear and into the loft and thoroughly updated, yet retains key period features and elegant proportions. The décor is tasteful, with a subtle palette of shades that imbues a sense of order and calm, showcasing original features such as the picture rails and cornicing, whilst perfectly complementing the contemporary fixtures and fittings.

A warming wood floor runs throughout the ground floor. This is home to two large living spaces; a traditional living room at the front and a spacious, open-plan kitchen/diner at the rear. The classy living room has a period feel. Flooded with light from a bay window, it has a feature fireplace as the focal point and two-tone paintwork that emphasis the high ceilings, cornicing and ceiling rose.

The spacious kitchen/diner has been carefully designed to maximise space, storage and style, with a wall of floor cupboards, a tiled splashback wall, a central island, an additional wall of full-height storage, and floor-to-ceiling glazed doors that provide stunning garden views and open onto a large deck. There’s also a convenient and neatly concealed utility room.

There are three bedrooms on the first floor, with the main double bedroom at the front and the second double at the rear. Both are large rooms with fresh, simple décor and a neutral-toned carpet. The bathroom is refreshing space with a freestanding bath and mixer shower, a modern washbasin and WC, and great natural light. The fourth bedroom on the top floor is also a double, with two skylights.

The lovely low-maintenance garden has a raised deck adjacent to the back of the house, a long, long lawn with a planted border, and an L-shaped garden studio at the end that would make an ideal workspace.

Our Local Guide:
Chingford

Warwick Road, Chingford — Stow Brothers

Chingford has flourished more quickly than people have caught on in recent years, making it something of a well kept secret for locals (it wasn’t us who told you). Full of village charm but only 26 minutes from central London, it’s easy to see the appeal.

With sprawling parks in the centre and the 6,000-acre Epping Forest lining the northern boundary, there’s more open space than you can shake a native hornbeam stick at, no wonder that Chingford has spawned two England football captains in recent decades.

For those looking to refuel after burning off all that energy in nature, there’s a thriving food and drink scene, although let’s be clear that the area’s admired status pre-dates the macchiato. Local historical landmark the Queen Elizabeth’s Hunting Lodge was built for Henry VIII way back in 1543.
