WHAT ELSE?

-It’s a 13 minute stroll to Blackhorse Road station, where the Victoria line will get you straight to Kings Cross in the same amount of time, or hop on the Overground, which zips between Gospel Oak and Barking. Buses are plentiful too. You also have the option of St James Street Station or Walthamstow Central for the Overground route to London Liverpool Street.
-New local? How about The Chequers on the High Street, a favourite with many due to its great selection of drinks and delicious roasts. It’s seven minutes on foot.

"We've spent many happy years here and it is only with the changing of circumstances we're reluctantly moving along. We'll miss the classic red-brick character, and the chunky (even for a Warner) rooms that were such a huge upgrade after paying our dues in house shares and one-beds. The big, private garden (which swung it for us back in the day) has been a perfect getaway, as well as a great social space and Spaniel play area. The location is perfect and feels like the hub of the wheel of Walthamstow. Lloyd Park, St James, the Blackhorse Breweries, the Wetlands, the High Street and the Village are all very much walkable and have given us many happy weekends here. Similarly there are 4 different stations (Blackhorse Road station is 13 mins on Google Maps - so 10 at commuting speed!) we can get to which mean its always super easy and flexible to get into town. The road itself is quiet and friendly, with coffee shops galore and a few different options for a local. It's also a requirement as residents of Warner Road to mention Bonners - the finest fish and chip shop in the area. The home, as well as the area around it, have also been great catering to us as our lives here changed. The office/guest room was able to morph into a nursery when called on, and the pubs and cafes are equaled by baby classes and brunch venues. We hope whoever takes on the baton from us enjoys the property as much as we do and wish them all the best!"

Situated on the edge of spacious Epping Forest, but every inch urban London, Walthamstow is one of those rare locations where you can have your (artisan) cake and eat it too. 

Built from proper East End roots, the rapidly expanding community has transformed the area into a buzzy, creative hub and destination in its own right, making Walthamstow’s close proximity to central London less relevant than it perhaps once was (although if you must leave, it’s only a short hop on the Victoria line or London Overground). In fact, these days you’re more likely to see daytrippers coming into the area, keen to sample its varied offerings of food, drink, culture and green space. However, lucky locals get the added benefit of being part of a genuinely cheery community – and amongst the first to know about that latest hot new opening.
