"This house has been a labour of love. When we moved in it required a lot of renovation and when we moved it was just before lockdown so it’s been a protracted process. Going from 1 kid to 3 kids in this house has been a joy. The garden is a fantastic size and keeps everyone entertained. We get full sun for the majority of the day in the back garden so it’s become a great entertaining space. Especially when the bi-folds are thrown open. Dan works in Tower Hamlets as a teacher and uses the car to drive to work, with great connections from A406 to A12 it couldn’t be simpler. Andy works in Liverpool Street and the short walk to Highams Park as made his commute bliss. As we have a dog, it was fantastic to discover an enclosed wooded area just a 10 minute walk away that makes you feel like you’re no longer in the city and takes you all the way up to Highams Park park and lake. Which is a beautiful, duck filled lake, again, feels entirely out of London in the experience. We love going to The Royal Oak, the food is incredible. And Highams Park offers a range of lovely cafes, organic food shops as well as a craft brewery pub and wine bar. We also enjoy the close proximity to Lloyd Park as well as the Walthamstow Better Health centre where you can work out, swim or go crazy in the trampoline park. All in all we love it here, it has everything we need. And the only reason we’re moving is because we want to be closer to family so our kids can see their cousins more!"

Situated on the edge of spacious Epping Forest, but every inch urban London, Walthamstow is one of those rare locations where you can have your (artisan) cake and eat it too. 

Built from proper East End roots, the rapidly expanding community has transformed the area into a buzzy, creative hub and destination in its own right, making Walthamstow’s close proximity to central London less relevant than it perhaps once was (although if you must leave, it’s only a short hop on the Victoria line or London Overground). In fact, these days you’re more likely to see daytrippers coming into the area, keen to sample its varied offerings of food, drink, culture and green space. However, lucky locals get the added benefit of being part of a genuinely cheery community – and amongst the first to know about that latest hot new opening.
