Voluntary Place has a genuine sense of community that feels unusual for London: friendly, supportive, and welcoming. The space and layout of the property have worked extremely well for us, particularly the large open-plan living and dining area, where we spend most of our time. Owning the loft is an added bonus, offering generous storage and the potential to make use of it in other ways. We have made many happy memories in the flat and hope the new owners will enjoy it and the area as much as we have!’

Voluntary Place, Wanstead — Stow Brothers

Thanks to its royal connections and grand properties, Wanstead has previously been compared to the likes of Twickenham and Richmond, although East Londoners are quick to point out that it has plenty enough merits of its own. 

For a start, despite its villagey feel, it’s proudly nestled within London’s most creative quadrant and only a short hop on the Central line from the bright lights of the City. There’s also an abundance of green space – Wanstead Flats, Epping Forest, Wanstead Park and Chalet Wood, with the seasonal display of bluebells in the latter just calling out for an accompanying picnic from one of the well-stocked local delis or cafes. But that’s not to say that Wanstead’s charming pubs and restaurants aren’t delightful to look at themselves – it’ll be deciding which to go for that’s the problem.
