A strikingly appointed three double bedroom Victorian terrace home spread across three immaculate floors, plus a south-west-facing rear garden. It's all sat on a tree-lined street, enviably located on the borders of our Bushwood neighbourhood.

A mere five minute walk from the ancient woodlands of Bush Wood, the many amenities of Leytonstone High Road lie even closer with wining and dining options including The Olive (for incredible mezze) and The Birds (an homage to local boy Alfred Hitchcock).

IF YOU LIVED HERE...

You'll be relishing the exquisitely realised interior design & dÈcor on a daily basis. Your breathtaking front reception comes in at 170 square feet with a box bay window, stately Phthalo green walls and matching wallpaper flowing up to the picture rails. Intricate ceiling moulding, dark timber floorboards and a vintage fireplace lend a gorgeous period feel in here. Next door and reception two is 135 square feet and similarly styled, with glass doors connecting the spaces and letting light flow through.

Your kitchen/diner's accessed from both here and the hallway (where you'll also find the entrance to your 165 square foot cellar). It's an expertly extended 315 square foot living space with a pewter grey suite of cabinets housing a full complement of sleekly integrated appliances, plus chef's island. Your dining area sits next door, with a skywell overhead filling the space with natural light. Throw open the doors to the rear for a barbecue perfect patio, Trulawn, raised beds and a canopy of mature foliage.

Back inside and head up the stairs for your principal bedroom. It's an absolute beauty with Hague blue walls complementing the designer palette downstairs, plush carpet and a charming window seat nestled within the box bay window, all totaling a huge 240 square feet. The first floor's completed by two more impeccable double bedrooms with a garden view apiece, plus two washrooms, one with a shower and the other an L-shaped tub. Lastly, the second floor's home to your 165 square foot skylit loft room.

Outside, Leytonstone tube station is four minutes' stroll. Sat in zone three for the Central Line, Stratford is five minutes direct, Liverpool Street fourteen minutes and Tottenham Court Road twenty three. Alternatively, Leytonstone High Road overground station is six minutes on foot for the recently extended Gospel Oak to Barking Riverside line. Those who drive electric have a choice of nearby ubitricity charging stations, while three bus routes connect you to myriad destinations from the High Street.

a word from the owners...

"We're really proud to have turned this house into a home over the last few years, where we've not only brought both our babies into the world, but where we've also lovingly revived lots of original features from Victorian tiles to sash windows and created a kitchen extension which is the real heart of our family life - and great for entertaining! Vernon Road has a lovely community feel and we chat with neighbours up and down the road who are all very friendly and look out for one another. We love that our sunny garden isn't overlooked and there's always lots of wildlife to spot. We're moving out of London and will really miss the home we've created, but we're excited for another growing family to enjoy it as much as we have."

Our Local Guide:
Leytonstone

Vernon Road, Leytonstone — Stow Brothers

There’s more to Leytonstone than first meets the eye. Say the name to one person and they might think of the grand houses around Hollow Ponds, while say it to someone else and they’ll mention burgeoning South Leytonstone, or maybe the popular Bushwood. There are many different pockets, but they’re all united by the same inclusive community who recognise that it’s the balance of it all that makes Leytonstone so great.

The centre is arguably the high street with its eclectic shops and eateries, but you only have to venture slightly further away and you’ll come across hidden gems like bar Filly Brook on Grove Green Road, music venue Luna Lounge in Bushwood, or the The Hitchcock Hotel in Upper Leytonstone. Travel a little beyond and you’ll find further contrast with the vast green space that Hollow Ponds and the Wanstead Flats provide. Simply put, you’ll never get bored in Leytonstone.

Transport links

Just two stops from Stratford, Leytonstoners can nip to the Kent coast with surprising ease, but Central London or the City on the tube might be more useful - the former takes about 25 mins and the latter 15 mins. Easy.

Great Pubs

Too many pubs to choose from… What a problem to have. With The Red Lion, Heathcote and Star, The Hitchcock Hotel, The North Star, Leytonstone Tavern, locals are spoilt for choice. Better bring your pub crawl A-game if you visit.

Plenty of period property

Despite all the urban bustle, Leytonstone has an abundance of wide, tree-lined streets brimming Victorian and Edwardian property, ranging from the grand homes in Upper Leytonstone, a stone’s throw from Hollow Ponds, to the many terraces of South Leytonstone, and the popular community of Bushwood with its active residents’ association.
