IF YOU LIVED HERE...

Even the exterior sets it apart from it’s neighbours with its individuality and charm; - the steel grey and white facade is beautifully complemented by a black and white mosaic-tiled pathway, leading to an inviting pale peony front door.

Upon entering, you’re immediately in the reception room—a gorgeous, light-filled space enhanced by a bay window. White shelving flanks the chimney breast, providing ample display options, and the fireplace has been transformed with modern geometric tiles and a pale wood block mantelpiece.

The extended Kitchen/diner features the same alcove shelving and additional storage cleverly tucked under the stairs. A pristine white bank of cabinetry, an unusual integrated white oven, microwave and hob are complimented by a striking terrazzo splashback that adds a pop of colour. Glazed doors on two sides open fully, revealing a delightful surprise—a living wall along a vertically slatted wooden fence, ensuring a green vista all year round.

Towards the rear, you’ll discover the bathroom—a bright and elegant space featuring a stunning floor-to-ceiling window and skylight. Clad in sage green and biscuit-coloured tiles, the bathroom includes a glazed bath and shower combination with brass hardware, a wall-mounted designer sink, a generous mirrored cabinet, and pale wood shelving.

Upstairs, the first bedroom, spanning 111 ft², is a soothing retreat with two windows providing abundant light and a feature brick wall as well as discreet built-in cupboard storage. The second bedroom, at 116.25 ft², offers a similar light and airy feel with built-in wardrobe storage and a convenient ensuite WC.

The garden extends 35 feet and is beautifully landscaped with a mix of large paving stones and dark gravel. Gloriously south-facing, it captures sunlight all day. At the end of the garden, the studio room provides a versatile option for working from home, guest accommodation, or additional storage.

a word from the owner...

"We have so many amazing memories of living in this house and this wonderful neighborhood over the past eight years. When we renovated, our goal was to create a bright, open, and airy space. We added floor-to-ceiling windows in the dining room, kitchen, and bathroom to flood the home with natural light. The connection between our living areas and the garden was also important to us, and with the fully opening doors at the rear, it's a great space to host friends and family. It’s lovely to step outside in the morning with a coffee or unwind in the evening with a drink. The house has a peaceful, serene feel—something we truly love and will miss. Trumpington Road is a quiet street, and our neighbors are all really friendly. It’s in a fantastic location, with the beautiful green space of Wanstead Flats right on our doorstep and excellent local amenities nearby. Pretty Decent’s taprooms are just down the road, and the arches on Winchelsea Road are home to great spots like Wild Goose Bakery, Joyau, and The Can Club (a must if you have kids!). You can get arguably the best Sunday roast in East London at the Leytonstone Tavern, which is just a short walk away. Transport links are also excellent. The Elizabeth Line at Forest Gate is within a 15-minute walk, making travel across London quick and easy. The Central Line is easily accessible with a 10-minute bus ride to Leyton, while Wanstead Park and Leytonstone High Road Overground stations are both nearby."

Our Local Guide:
Forest Gate

Trumpington Road, Forest Gate — Stow Brothers

If you’ve already heard Chiwetel Ejiofor or Idris Elba proudly discussing their hometown, you probably don’t need us to convince you of Forest Gate’s merits, but for those who haven’t, let us catch you up…

With a heritage rooted in culture, it’s not surprising that Forest Gate has a strong creative community today. During just one week in the 60s, the Upper Cut Club music venue there hosted – deep breath – The Who, the Animals, the Spencer Davis Group, Geno Washington and Jimi Hendrix. These days you’re more likely to find the area’s artistic-types supping drinks in the cool cafes and bars. Along with the period property and proximity to green space, this independent scene has been the main draw for new arrivals to the area, although the fact that Forest Gate is now on the Crossrail’s Elizabeth line has definitely helped nudge people in the right direction.
