IF YOU LIVED HERE…

Your new home opens with a welcoming hallway where floorboards run throughout, linking each space with a natural flow. A built-in storage cupboard adds practicality, while the finish lends a warm sense of continuity.

At the front, you’ll find the kitchen and reception area combined into a generous open-plan room, designed for both everyday living and entertaining. A wide bay window allows sunlight to pour in, illuminating the soft tones of the flooring. With ample space for a dining table and comfortable seating, this room offers versatility and ease, bringing together cooking, dining and relaxing in one inviting setting.

Crisp white tiling gives the bathroom a clean, timeless look. A full-sized bath with overhead rain shower makes it as practical as it is appealing, while built-in cabinetry ensures a tidy finish.

One of the bedrooms enjoys glazed double doors that open directly onto a courtyard, creating a light and restful space. The courtyard itself provides a secluded outdoor corner, perfect for morning coffee or a touch of greenery, and is easy to maintain.

To the rear, the main bedroom is a serene retreat, enhanced by high ceilings, whitewashed beams and a skylight that fills the space with daylight. A clever partition introduces a separate dressing or study area, while built-in cabinetry adds plenty of storage. The adjoining ensuite continues the fresh, simple style, complete with walk-in shower and another skylight overhead, ensuring this personal haven remains airy and uplifting.

When it’s time to head out, you’ll find a wealth of choice right on your doorstep. Wanstead Flats unfurls just moments away, a vast stretch of greenery once favoured by royalty and now beloved by joggers, dog walkers and those after a leisurely picnic. Our Local Guide:
Forest Gate

Thorpe Road, Forest Gate — Stow Brothers

If you’ve already heard Chiwetel Ejiofor or Idris Elba proudly discussing their hometown, you probably don’t need us to convince you of Forest Gate’s merits, but for those who haven’t, let us catch you up…

With a heritage rooted in culture, it’s not surprising that Forest Gate has a strong creative community today. During just one week in the 60s, the Upper Cut Club music venue there hosted – deep breath – The Who, the Animals, the Spencer Davis Group, Geno Washington and Jimi Hendrix. These days you’re more likely to find the area’s artistic-types supping drinks in the cool cafes and bars. Along with the period property and proximity to green space, this independent scene has been the main draw for new arrivals to the area, although the fact that Forest Gate is now on the Crossrail’s Elizabeth line has definitely helped nudge people in the right direction.
