IF YOU LIVE HERE…

Step inside and you’ll find Victorian heritage working in harmony with sleek innovation across two floors of immaculately planned living space.

The spacious reception room has been beautifully designed, with its sash bay windows, immaculate decor and engineered parquet flooring. Further back, the kitchen is glorious, with touches such as the brass fittings, metro brick tiling and timber worktops contrasting wonderfully with the sleek units and island. At the rear, you’ll find your ground floor bathroom/utility, which will be a joy to use with its stylish fittings. Head beyond and you’ll find your second reception/study, perfectly tucked away to ensure peace and quiet when you need it most.

Step out into your south-west facing rear garden, where the decked patio leads onto a low maintain lawn with custom beds.

On the first floor you’ll find three stylish bedrooms, with more spotless decor, as well as soft carpeting underfoot. The bathroom on this floor is just as stylish as the one below, with brass fittings and an over-tub shower.

Because you’re nicely nestled between Leytonstone, Leyton and Forest Gate, you have plenty of choice when it comes to amenities. Winchelsea Road is a short hop on foot and has a winning selection of drinking and dining spots, including Pretty Decent Beer Company Tap Room, The Rookwood Village and Wild Goose Bakery. Or head north towards Leytonstone where you’ve got the much lauded Singburi, as well as other top rated restaurants.

You’ll never be stuck for essentials since there’s an abundance of convenience stores nearby, plus you’re only a short journey on the bus or tube for Westfield and the Olympic Park.

a word from the owner...

"When we first bought the property it was in a very bad way. It was converted into 2 flats, with outdated services. Right away we saw the potential to change it back into a family friendly home. The 2 main standouts are the reinstated front bay window and upstairs window which were hand carved from white Dover stone (you can still see the fossils in it) and the opening to the kitchen. At the top of the stairs we also vaulted the ceiling and raised the wooden lintel to create an open space adding the velux windows to let natural light in."

Our Local Guide:
Forest Gate

Talbot Road, Forest Gate — Stow Brothers

If you’ve already heard Chiwetel Ejiofor or Idris Elba proudly discussing their hometown, you probably don’t need us to convince you of Forest Gate’s merits, but for those who haven’t, let us catch you up…

With a heritage rooted in culture, it’s not surprising that Forest Gate has a strong creative community today. During just one week in the 60s, the Upper Cut Club music venue there hosted – deep breath – The Who, the Animals, the Spencer Davis Group, Geno Washington and Jimi Hendrix. These days you’re more likely to find the area’s artistic-types supping drinks in the cool cafes and bars. Along with the period property and proximity to green space, this independent scene has been the main draw for new arrivals to the area, although the fact that Forest Gate is now on the Crossrail’s Elizabeth line has definitely helped nudge people in the right direction.
