This charming Victorian terraced house has been lovingly refurbished and renovated to create a simply stunning home. Immaculately presented, and with a beautifully landscaped garden, it’s a perfect example of a period property updated for modern living.

The location is great, with parks, shops, schools, nurseries, and public transport links all within easy walking distance.

IF YOU LIVED HERE

You’d step through your front door into a huge open-plan living space, filled with natural light and extending over 30 feet from the covered front porch to the kitchen at the back of the house. Once inside you’d have two distinct downstairs rooms to choose from, the traditional living room at the front, or the contemporary open plan kitchen/dining space to the rear. These contrasting spaces are great for flexible living; the large open plan area provides a spacious central hub, whilst the separate living room is a quiet retreat from the everyday hubbub.

The main open-plan space works really well because it retains the integrity and space of the previously separate reception room and kitchen, whilst creating a seamless transition between the two. Connected by a large arch, these rooms are ideal for everyday meals as well as for working from home, doing homework after school, and entertaining.

The large and well-equipped U-shaped kitchen is fitted with bespoke matt white handleless cabinets and fully integrated Neff appliances. It has smart white tiled walls, a large picture window above the sink with lovely garden views, and access to the garden via a door to the side return. The connected dining space is an airy and light space, with a beautiful solid wood floor. The tranquil front living room has a mix of traditional and modern features, including a central bay window, and built-in shelves and cupboards in the alcoves on either side of the chimney breast.

On the first floor there are two double bedrooms and a bathroom. The main bedroom has two windows to the front, an original cast iron grate with wood surround, and lots of space for a wall of wardrobes. The second bedroom has leafy garden views. There’s also a fully tiled shower room with a large double shower, mirrored cabinets, and striking monochrome décor.

WHAT ELSE?

-The beautiful 50 foot garden, enclosed by fashionable graphite grey stained fencing, has a wonderful sense of privacy. Thoughtfully landscaped and zoned for entertaining, play, and dining, it has two paved terraces, raised beds planted with flowers and produce, and a smart shed.
-The house is a winning mix of the old and new, with original features such as the cast-iron fireplace, ceiling roses and cornicing, and stunning solid wood floors alongside modern material and contemporary décor.
-You can be in the City in less than half an hour, and the West End in just a few minutes more. Leyton tube station is a 7-8 minutes’ walk from the house, and Central Line journeys take 12 minutes to Liverpool Street and 20 to Oxford Circus.
-There are lots of ‘good’ and ‘outstanding’ primary and secondary schools within easy walking distance.
-With local shops on the street corner, Draper’s Field green space and playground at the end of the Road, and the many amenities of Stratford and the Olympic Park less than a mile from your door, this is London living at its best.

a word from the owners...

"From the moment we arrived at Stewart Road, we felt at home. The property has held our happiest memories, being both safe and quiet, but never far from the true buzz of London. It's positioned close to Leyton, Leytonstone, Forest Gate and Wanstead, but for us , best of all, a stone's throw from the emerging E20 neighbourhood, the stunning Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, Hackney Wick and countless travel links that mean you can get just about anywhere in record time. With the V&A, Sadler's Wells and the London College of Fashion soon to open, the area looks set to go supersonic and continue to flourish."

Our Local Guide:
Stratford

Stewart Road, Stratford — Stow Brothers

Given it’s been almost a decade since the Olympic torch touched down in Stratford, it’s probably time to let this part of East London shine on its own. It truly is a destination in its own right, with a multitude of restaurants, bars and pubs cropping up in the area, and that’s before we’ve even mentioned one of the largest shopping centres in Europe. Yep, Westfield might draw most visitors to the area, but Stratford’s Market Village is a hidden gem and where you’ll get a true flavour of the community.

Of course, we do have to acknowledge the legacy of the London 2012 Games and the regeneration it brought to the area, including the soon to be opened East Bank. With the former Olympic venues open to the public, residents have an incredibly advanced sport and fitness facilities, while the ArcelorMittal Orbit, the world’s longest helter skelter, is quite literally Stratford’s standout feature.

Transport links

Stratford’s quite the hub. With the launch of the Crossrail, it is now on the Elizabeth line, while high-speed trains already travel between Stratford International and Ashford. The Overground runs to North London, while the Jubilee line and DLR go to Canary Wharf. Finally, London Underground’s Central line nips to the West End.

Vibrant shopping district

What can’t you get in Stratford? It really is a shopper’s delight, with everything from the luxury boutiques, high street retailers and department stores at Westfield Stratford, to the essential shops and market stalls within the Stratford Centre, and the independent stores of the East Village.

Recent regeneration/Post-Olympics

A key aim for the successful London 2012 Games bid was the wider regeneration of the area, which has resulted in one of the world’s largest cultural districts, East Bank. Universities UCL and UAL’s London College of Fashion will join the BBC, Sadler’s Wells and the V&A, opening 2022-2023.
