This lovely one bedroom flat is on the second floor of a well-maintained purpose built low rise block in the heart of the popular Wood Street neighbourhood has a private car parking space. The location is ideal, with everything you need within a ten minute walk, including shops, green spaces, and Wood Street station.

No space is wasted in this well-designed apartment which has a considered layout with generous room sizes and plentiful natural light thanks to picture windows on three sides. All four rooms have windows and are a good size, including the bathroom (which has a bath) and the separate kitchen (which has a dining area). The central hallway is home to a full height storage cupboard.

The main living room is 12’2” square, making it easy to furnish with ample space for a sofa, armchairs, and a dining table, and the southeast-facing picture window has far-reaching views over the neighbouring rooftops.

The kitchen is superbly planned and well-equipped, with a sink and a breakfast/dining bar located beneath the two windows making the most of the views and fitted wall and floor cabinets housing a combination of integrated and freestanding appliances.

The main bedroom is a superb space, with two double bespoke fitted wardrobes, and lots of space for a large double bed. It’s conveniently adjacent to the bathroom, which is fitted with a bath with a mixer shower and a freestanding washbasin and WC. There’s also an obscured glass opening window that provides good natural light and ventilation.

The apartment is in an excellent condition, with contemporary fixtures and fittings, all-white walls and ceilings, and pale wood laminate floors. This neutral palette emphasises the sense of space and light and creates a calm coherence.

The apartment is on the second (top) floor of a well-maintained modern block which is set in an enclosed communal garden. This is largely lawn and a great place to relax, and it enjoys lots of sunshine thanks to its open aspect. There’s also a car park to the side of the block in which this apartment has a parking space.

Our Local Guide:

Shernhall Street, Walthamstow — Stow Brothers

Situated on the edge of spacious Epping Forest, but every inch urban London, Walthamstow is one of those rare locations where you can have your (artisan) cake and eat it too.

Built from proper East End roots, the rapidly expanding community has transformed the area into a buzzy, creative hub and destination in its own right, making Walthamstow’s close proximity to central London less relevant than it perhaps once was (although if you must leave, it’s only a short hop on the Victoria line or London Overground). In fact, these days you’re more likely to see daytrippers coming into the area, keen to sample its varied offerings of food, drink, culture and green space. However, lucky locals get the added benefit of being part of a genuinely cheery community – and amongst the first to know about that latest hot new opening.
