a word from the owner...

"We've spent the most gorgeous 3 years living in and renovating this flat with lots of love and care. The flat is proper cosy in winter and lovely and cool in summer. The garden is such a special feature and has made moving a very difficult decision. It's very secluded and calm. We've grown so much veg and will be leaving you with some top quality compost in the compost bin. The big patio and lawn make hosting summer gatherings a breeze. The garden studio acts as a second living space, we use it as a home office, workshop, storage, and for sleeping in when we have guests. Ripley mews is tranquil, feels super safe and has a real community feel, there's always someone to water the plants when you're away. It's the first place in London where we've felt part of a proper community. The Mews is a private road for the 6 properties, and all of us have our own car parking space. Hollow Ponds is obviously super close which is such a benefit of this location; it means we have the perfect blend of having everything that the city offers (we count the walk to the station at about 10 minutes) whilst having so much green space and nature nearby. The pub and restaurant scene here is off the scale, and we've tried them all! Homies on Donkeys, Singburi, Panda Express, Burnt and Papi's Munchies pizza at our favourite pub: The North Star. And all within a 15 minute walk. The most recent addition to the area is the cafe Out of The Woods, just round the corner."

Our Local Guide:
Leytonstone

Ripley Mews, Leytonstone — Stow Brothers

There’s more to Leytonstone than first meets the eye. Say the name to one person and they might think of the grand houses around Hollow Ponds, while say it to someone else and they’ll mention burgeoning South Leytonstone, or maybe the popular Bushwood. There are many different pockets, but they’re all united by the same inclusive community who recognise that it’s the balance of it all that makes Leytonstone so great.

The centre is arguably the high street with its eclectic shops and eateries, but you only have to venture slightly further away and you’ll come across hidden gems like bar Filly Brook on Grove Green Road, music venue Luna Lounge in Bushwood, or the The Hitchcock Hotel in Upper Leytonstone. Travel a little beyond and you’ll find further contrast with the vast green space that Hollow Ponds and the Wanstead Flats provide. Simply put, you’ll never get bored in Leytonstone.
