a word from the owner...

"I have lived here for 4 years after buying as my first time property and getting on the ladder. I’ve loved it here, from the friendly neighbourhood and the community feel, the local parks and tennis courts make it a friendly environment as well as the accessibility of the bus stop right outside taking you directly to Stratford or the Elizabeth line, it’s extremely well connected whilst being nice and quiet. The forest is on your door step which is lovely for getting outdoors, something I’ve enjoyed whilst living here."

Our Local Guide:
Wanstead

Queenswood Gardens, Wanstead — Stow Brothers

Thanks to its royal connections and grand properties, Wanstead has previously been compared to the likes of Twickenham and Richmond, although East Londoners are quick to point out that it has plenty enough merits of its own.

For a start, despite its villagey feel, it’s proudly nestled within London’s most creative quadrant and only a short hop on the Central line from the bright lights of the City. There’s also an abundance of green space – Wanstead Flats, Epping Forest, Wanstead Park and Chalet Wood, with the seasonal display of bluebells in the latter just calling out for an accompanying picnic from one of the well-stocked local delis or cafes. But that’s not to say that Wanstead’s charming pubs and restaurants aren’t delightful to look at themselves – it’ll be deciding which to go for that’s the problem.
