"We have loved living on Queens Grove Road. As previous residents of Hackney and Walthamstow, we didn’t know what to expect when we moved to Chingford. Never did we imagine that we’d make life-long friends (with our neighbours!) and feel so much part of a community. We feel we have the best of both worlds, with a 27 minute Overground ride into Liverpool Street, but with the benefits and proximity of being a stone's throw from Epping Forest. The high street is right on our doorstep so we have everything we need within a 3 minute walk. We’re spoilt for choice when eating out - our personal favourites are Breeze for brunch, Hokkaido for Japanese, and Rusty Bike for a speedy Thai take away! The house is light, bright and full of character. Given the layout and proportions, we often forget the property is technically a maisonette. Our third bedroom has been invaluable as a home office. We are really going to miss living here!"

Chingford has flourished more quickly than people have caught on in recent years, making it something of a well kept secret for locals (it wasn’t us who told you). Full of village charm but only 26 minutes from central London, it’s easy to see the appeal. 

With sprawling parks in the centre and the 6,000-acre Epping Forest lining the northern boundary, there’s more open space than you can shake a native hornbeam stick at, no wonder that Chingford has spawned two England football captains in recent decades. 

For those looking to refuel after burning off all that energy in nature, there’s a thriving food and drink scene, although let’s be clear that the area’s admired status pre-dates the macchiato. Local historical landmark the Queen Elizabeth’s Hunting Lodge was built for Henry VIII way back in 1543.
