a word from the owners.......

We’ve loved living on Palamos, its like a small community in itself. It’s a quiet tree lined street that feels very peaceful while only being a stone's throw from the hustle and bustle of the Lea Bridge Rd. There’s a wide mixture of ages on the street who all come together for the yearly Street Party and the community spirit is strong - it's been the perfect place to start our family. The flat has been a joy to live in, with good light from all angles and both bedrooms feeling spacious enough to have family stay. The garden is a real sun trap that has allowed many a BBQ and alfresco dining well into the autumn with the covered decking area and the surrounding trees making it feel private and secluded from neighbours. The local area is a hive of activity for everyone. Being equal distance from Leyton, Clapton and Walthamstow means you’re never more than a walk or bus ride away from a great pub, cafe or restaurant. The real plus has been such easy access to green space. Hackney marshes, Epping Forrest, The Wetlands, St. James Park, The Olympic village are just a few of our local stomping grounds and the plans for the East London wild swimming park are well under way."

Our Local Guide:
Leyton

Palamos Road, Leyton — Stow Brothers

Assured locals barely bat an eyelid when the national press dub Leyton one of ‘best places to live’ in London – it’s been a regular feature since the 2012 London Olympics regeneration, but the area’s constant evolution means even frequent visitors can get taken aback by just how much it has going on.

With the lively cafes on Francis Road, the bustling High Road, the family-friendly footie action and easy access to the Olympic Park, Leyton can often feel like a city within a city. What’s more, these various layers work together to create a balanced community that comes free of any pretension, so even newbies can find themselves having a natter with the locals while they explore Leyton’s latest delights. It’s an easy reach too, with the Central line connecting Leyton with the city to the west, and leafy Essex to the east.

Features + Perks

Transport links

There’s no ‘late’ in Leyton thanks to the excellent transport links. Leyton tube is on the Central line with direct trains into the City and Central London, while Leyton Midland Road is handily placed on the Overground line, as is the new-ish Lea Bridge station.

Great Pubs

Whether you want a quiet pint in the sunshine or a night of banging tunes, Leyton has you covered for pubs. With The Leyton Star, The Coach & Horses, William the Fourth, locals and visitors are spoilt for choice.

Plenty of period property

Leyton’s amenities might be largely new additions, but a lot of the property is gloriously old. Victorian and Edwardian houses are plentiful - including budget-friendly ‘doer-uppers’, and the wide tree-lined streets add further appeal.
