A spectacular two bedroom maisonette laid out across a substantial Victorian conversion a short walk from Forest Gate. Impeccably finished throughout, with vintage style and original features, this unique home also has a private garden.

You'll get a sense of the wonderful decor inside from the private front door with its unique stained glass, always a delight whether you're heading in or out.

IF YOU LIVED HERE…

Head up to the first floor and you'll find your fabulous kitchen/diner straight ahead, flooded with light from a large bay window. Sleek white units sit under concrete worktops, and a breakfast bar island neatly divides the space. Steps lead down to your garden with its profusion of plant life and large patio. Your bathroom is next, with glossy rose and emerald tiling around the side tap tub, and ceiling mounted rainfall shower. There's warm cork underfoot, and a vanity sink. Adjacent is your separate WC, with its own window and cloakroom sink.

Your first bedroom is colourfully finished in citrona from F&B's California collection, and looks out over the garden. Original floorboards lie underfoot. To the front, with another own bay window is your reception, with one of many attractive original fireplaces. A neat study sits next to that. Upstairs you'll find a beautifully converted loft bedroom, with twin skylights and a wall of bespoke wardrobes.

You're less than ten minutes' stroll from Forest Gate station for the Elizabeth Line, which will take you to Tottenham Court Road in under twenty minutes, or Liverpool Street in less than fifteen. All your amenities are close at hand. As for green spaces, Forest Lane Park is just at the end of your road, and West Ham Park is half a mile away, while Wanstead Flats is only a little further, anytime you want to stretch your legs.

Our Local Guide:
Forest Gate

Norwich Road, Forest Gate — Stow Brothers

If you’ve already heard Chiwetel Ejiofor or Idris Elba proudly discussing their hometown, you probably don’t need us to convince you of Forest Gate’s merits, but for those who haven’t, let us catch you up…

With a heritage rooted in culture, it’s not surprising that Forest Gate has a strong creative community today. During just one week in the 60s, the Upper Cut Club music venue there hosted – deep breath – The Who, the Animals, the Spencer Davis Group, Geno Washington and Jimi Hendrix. These days you’re more likely to find the area’s artistic-types supping drinks in the cool cafes and bars. Along with the period property and proximity to green space, this independent scene has been the main draw for new arrivals to the area, although the fact that Forest Gate is now on the Crossrail’s Elizabeth line has definitely helped nudge people in the right direction.
