"We have loved our time in this flat - the living area gets the sunshine most of the day and we have a lovely view out onto the green. The flat is spacious and has plenty of storage which was one of many reasons we bought it. Access to green spaces has been a huge plus of living here, Epping Forest is on our doorstep, along with Wanstead Park, the Flats & Hollow ponds. We are both keen runners and there are plenty of walking and running routes around - including access to the River Roding path at the end of the road! We're also in easy tube or bike ride of all that Stratford and Hackney have to offer, and only a few minutes walk to Wanstead High Street, with plenty of independent shops and restaurants, including a fantastic fish monger, butcher, green grocer and bakery."

Nightingale Lane, Wanstead — Stow Brothers

Thanks to its royal connections and grand properties, Wanstead has previously been compared to the likes of Twickenham and Richmond, although East Londoners are quick to point out that it has plenty enough merits of its own. 

For a start, despite its villagey feel, it’s proudly nestled within London’s most creative quadrant and only a short hop on the Central line from the bright lights of the City. There’s also an abundance of green space – Wanstead Flats, Epping Forest, Wanstead Park and Chalet Wood, with the seasonal display of bluebells in the latter just calling out for an accompanying picnic from one of the well-stocked local delis or cafes. But that’s not to say that Wanstead’s charming pubs and restaurants aren’t delightful to look at themselves – it’ll be deciding which to go for that’s the problem.
