As well having the perks of Wanstead on your doorstep, you’re also nestled nicely between South Woodford, Leytonstone and Walthamstow. As for travelling beyond the area, you’re just a short stroll away from Snaresbrook station on London Underground’s Central line.

IF YOU LIVED HERE…

You'll love stretching out in your generously sized 387 square foot open plan kitchen/lounge, which is immaculately decorated, with a wonderful balance of characterful nooks and contemporary elegance. The kitchen area is particularly sleek with spotless cabinets, integrated appliances and a counter that conveniently doubles up as a breakfast bar to divide the whole space. The beautiful timber flooring carries through to the two generously sized bedrooms, which are just as pristine, with more neutral decor - the perfect backdrop for any of your own personal touches. The bathroom also has a lovely balance between contemporary fittings and traditional touches, such as a the timber counter, as well as an over-tub shower. There’s ample storage throughout thanks to the custom eaves cupboards, while the secure entrance will provide extra peace of mind. Beyond your door, venture the short distance to the village-esque hub of Wanstead where you’ll find everything from horse riding and farmer’s markets to charming pubs and gourmet restaurants. Gail’s Bakery will always be a winner, but make sure you also try the equally excellent Provender Restaurant and Bombetta. You also have easy access to South Woodford, where you have even more amenities, including Marks & Spencer, Waitrose and an impressive Art Deco Odeon cinema. Leyton and Walthamstow are both within easy reach too.

WHAT ELSE?
-Drivers, already pleased about the off street parking, will be happy to know that the North Circular is conveniently located, but not close enough to impact on all that peace and quiet.
-The mix of independents and chains on the vibrant High Street means you’ll never be stuck for any last minute essentials.
-Your new local? How about the converted 19th century coaching inn The Cuckfield, which is a six minute stroll away. The Duke Wanstead is another great option, and slightly further.

a word from the expert...

"Being a country girl at heart, for me Wanstead is the perfect blend of village/city living. With excellent transport links into the city, I often meet up with friends to explore the wonders of London. But I also enjoy going for long, leafy walks with Hollow Ponds and Wanstead Park on my doorstep. I was first attracted to Wanstead by its charming High Street, lush green spaces and choice of excellent schools. Since moving here, I have discovered some new favourites — for breakfast La Bakerie, lunch at Otto and The Duke for the best roast around. I love to stay active, and here in Wanstead you have lots to choose from. From organised yoga at Christ Church Green, personal training sessions at Target Fit or jogging around the various nature trails of Epping Forest. There is a great sense of community here in Wanstead, with informative Facebook groups, street parties, a monthly farmers’ market and the local jumble trail. I have made many friends locally, there is a genuine community spirit here and I am proud to call Wanstead my home." KYLI CLAYTON E11 BRANCH MANAGER

Our Local Guide:
Wanstead

New Wanstead, Wanstead — Stow Brothers

Thanks to its royal connections and grand properties, Wanstead has previously been compared to the likes of Twickenham and Richmond, although East Londoners are quick to point out that it has plenty enough merits of its own.

For a start, despite its villagey feel, it’s proudly nestled within London’s most creative quadrant and only a short hop on the Central line from the bright lights of the City. There’s also an abundance of green space – Wanstead Flats, Epping Forest, Wanstead Park and Chalet Wood, with the seasonal display of bluebells in the latter just calling out for an accompanying picnic from one of the well-stocked local delis or cafes. But that’s not to say that Wanstead’s charming pubs and restaurants aren’t delightful to look at themselves – it’ll be deciding which to go for that’s the problem.
