This impressive 1930s four-bedroom semi-detached home is situated in a fantastic spot where it’s as easy to hop on the overground to Central London as it is to explore the ancient woodlands of Epping Forest.

Coming in at 1555 square foot, with potential to extend further, it’s a grand affair with a private driveway, garage, side access and a 100 foot rear garden, as well as many other perks such as two reception rooms, a downstairs WC, cloak room and period features throughout.

Beyond that convenient private driveway, gloriously green front garden and double porch, you’ll find a fantastically proportioned home, where every inch has been considered for the optimum layout.

Your front reception room achieves the remarkable task of being both bright and spacious yet also cosy and snug, undoubtably helped by the sumptuous carpeting and warm palette. The focal fireplace and bay windows add to the feeling of grand tradition, which is a theme that runs throughout the rest of the house.

Head back to your spacious hallway, and you’ll find your access to the cloak room and downstairs WC, as well as your second reception room and kitchen-diner. The fact that the former has patio doors leading out towards the large rear garden makes it an excellent spot for entertaining during warmer months, when you can spill out and make the most of the seating under your gorgeous pergola, but you’ll also enjoy family time in your more informal yet spacious kitchen-diner (the best way to make sure everyone lends a hand). It’s beautifully rustic with its timber accents and mosaic tiles, and the garage access is extra handy.

Upstairs, you’ve got four bedrooms, each with spotless decor, and one even has its own ensuite with walk-in shower. There’s also a pristine family bathroom, and a separate first floor WC - so no queuing in the morning.

Drivers will be delighted with the garage, private driveway (plus plenty of parking on top of that), but it’s incredibly easy to get around the area on foot. You can be at the cusp of Epping Forest within around 15 minutes, and Chingford station is slightly further on foot. From there you can nip to Liverpool Street on the overground in around 30 minutes, or change three stops down the line at Walthamstow for the speedy Victoria line.

If you stick around, you’ll find some excellent amenities in Chingford though. Make one of your first stops the Rusty Bike pub for delicious Thai food, and definitely try out the delicious (and healthy!) food on offer at the the London Feel Good Hub, right by the station so perfect for a bit of fuel before your easy commute.

- You’re just a five minutes on foot from Mansfield Park, which is fantastic open space enjoyed by everyone from joggers to dog-walkers and families. Slightly further away, you’ll find Ridgeway Park, home to the Chingford & District Model Engineering Club, where members of the public can ride on the model railway on Sundays.
- Parents will be pleased to know that there are plenty of 'Good' or 'Outstanding' primary and secondary schools in the area.
- As well as having the sprawling Epping Forest on your doorstep, you’ve also got some incredible outdoor pursuits around the River Lee’s reservoirs, including Lee Valley Athletics, Lee Valley Golf Course and the London Watersport Company.

Our Local Guide:

Nevin Drive, Chingford — Stow Brothers

Chingford has flourished more quickly than people have caught on in recent years, making it something of a well kept secret for locals (it wasn’t us who told you). Full of village charm but only 26 minutes from central London, it’s easy to see the appeal.

With sprawling parks in the centre and the 6,000-acre Epping Forest lining the northern boundary, there’s more open space than you can shake a native hornbeam stick at, no wonder that Chingford has spawned two England football captains in recent decades.

For those looking to refuel after burning off all that energy in nature, there’s a thriving food and drink scene, although let’s be clear that the area’s admired status pre-dates the macchiato. Local historical landmark the Queen Elizabeth’s Hunting Lodge was built for Henry VIII way back in 1543.
