A bright and beautiful three double bedroom brick fronted Victorian terrace with a loft bedroom and private rear garden. It's all located in Lower Leytonstone, mere moments from transport links, natural retreats and amenities galore.

Leyton's vibrant high street starts at the end of the road, and for local parks Langthorne is a six minute stroll away, while the Olympic Park is just fourteen. Here you'll find mountain bike trails, courts, woodlands, marshes, playgrounds and an abundance of cafes, bars and restaurants.

IF YOU LIVED HERE...

You'll be stepping past your teal front door and into your hallway leading to semi open plan twin receptions, with sanded original floorboards throughout. To the fore's your 145 square foot lounge with an elegantly shuttered bay window, vintage cornicing and a working wood burner nestled in an emerald green statement wall. Your dining room's no less impressive, featuring a tower radiator and garden access. Step out here for your thirty foot outside space where a shale courtyard leads to lawn flanked by beds as colourful as the interior. It all ends in a curved sun patio to the rear.

Head back inside, this time through your handy utility area, for your eat-in kitchen's chunky timber worktops, sleek white units and recessed spotlights illuminating proceedings. Next, pad past the stairway's glorious exposed brick to the first floor for two immaculate double bedrooms, plus a joyous sunflower yellow bathroom with a shower over the tub, metro tiled to the ceiling. All three spaces have a vintage fireplace apiece. Lastly, your second storey's home to your 160 square foot light and airy loft bedroom with a skylight, rooftop views and an impeccable en suite shower room.

Step outside and Leyton tube station, sat in zone three for the Central line, is seven minutes' walk away for direct eleven minute runs to Liverpool Street (via Stratford for interchanges and shopping at Westfield). Tottenham Court Road, for the West End, is just nine minutes further. Closer to home, both Leyton and Leytonstone High Roads are a short jaunt away, as is social hub Francis Road. For your new local we have to recommend the Leyton Star - a traditional East London pub with a heated beer garden and delicious burgers.

WHAT ELSE?

- Parents will be pleased to know that there are four 'Outstanding' primary/secondary schools in a mile radius. A further thirteen are deemed 'Good' and just as handy.
- After taking in the sights of the Olympic Park, stretch out a leisurely Sunday afternoon by crossing over the River Lee Navigation to Hackney Wick. Here a whole host of esoteric destinations await just half an hour from your front door. Cornerstone by Tom Brown comes highly recommended.
- With a secure bike hanger right outside, cyclists can easily make their way to the City via landmark East End destinations, or be whirring around the myriad routes of Wanstead Flats and Wanstead Park in under ten minutes.

a word from the owner...

"We've been at Millais Road since 2017, and have enjoyed seeing the vibrant area develop and grow. You've got the Olympic Park on the doorstep, with its cafes, bars, restaurants, parks and playgrounds, and it's a short ride to Hackney Wick for more culture and nightlife. There's a host of good local pubs, cafes and restaurants nearby too, in Leyton and Leytonstone, a short walk, tube or bus ride. The vast expanses of Wanstead Flats and Epping Forest are a stone’s throw away, and we often explore Wanstead Park, with its woodlands and lakes. Easy access to Central London on the Central line is just round the corner (a 7-min walk!), and the nearby overground links get you to Walthamstow and north London easily. We love the blend of modern and Victorian at our house that we've made into a family home. We're lucky to have so many lovely neighbours in a nice community and a peaceful spot, and will be sorry to leave it behind as we move further out for more space with our young family."

Our Local Guide:
Leytonstone

Millais Road, Leytonstone — Stow Brothers

There’s more to Leytonstone than first meets the eye. Say the name to one person and they might think of the grand houses around Hollow Ponds, while say it to someone else and they’ll mention burgeoning South Leytonstone, or maybe the popular Bushwood. There are many different pockets, but they’re all united by the same inclusive community who recognise that it’s the balance of it all that makes Leytonstone so great.

The centre is arguably the high street with its eclectic shops and eateries, but you only have to venture slightly further away and you’ll come across hidden gems like bar Filly Brook on Grove Green Road, music venue Luna Lounge in Bushwood, or the The Hitchcock Hotel in Upper Leytonstone. Travel a little beyond and you’ll find further contrast with the vast green space that Hollow Ponds and the Wanstead Flats provide. Simply put, you’ll never get bored in Leytonstone.

Transport links

Just two stops from Stratford, Leytonstoners can nip to the Kent coast with surprising ease, but Central London or the City on the tube might be more useful - the former takes about 25 mins and the latter 15 mins. Easy.

Great Pubs

Too many pubs to choose from… What a problem to have. With The Red Lion, Heathcote and Star, The Hitchcock Hotel, The North Star, Leytonstone Tavern, locals are spoilt for choice. Better bring your pub crawl A-game if you visit.

Plenty of period property

Despite all the urban bustle, Leytonstone has an abundance of wide, tree-lined streets brimming Victorian and Edwardian property, ranging from the grand homes in Upper Leytonstone, a stone’s throw from Hollow Ponds, to the many terraces of South Leytonstone, and the popular community of Bushwood with its active residents’ association.
