a word from the owner...

"The community in Bushwood is second to none and I feel very lucky to have experienced this in London. I feel everyone looks after each other and there is always something going on with the Bushwood residents association that I can be part of. It is great how new restaurants and shops are opening up and Leytonstone feels like it has a buzz in the air. On one hand, Michael Road is a quiet street with amazing access to the green expanse of Wansted Park and Epping Forest. Perfect for dog walks, cycling and the weekend parkrun. On the other, it is a 4 minute walk to the central line with a 25 minute journey into Oxford Street. Stratford being only 2 tube stops away keeps me very connected. I have valued this balance and found it a very convenient place to live. I am moving home to Scotland and will absolutely miss this pretty flat and the neighbours I have gotten to know over the last few years. "

Our Local Guide:
Leytonstone

Michael Road, Leytonstone — Stow Brothers

There’s more to Leytonstone than first meets the eye. Say the name to one person and they might think of the grand houses around Hollow Ponds, while say it to someone else and they’ll mention burgeoning South Leytonstone, or maybe the popular Bushwood. There are many different pockets, but they’re all united by the same inclusive community who recognise that it’s the balance of it all that makes Leytonstone so great.

The centre is arguably the high street with its eclectic shops and eateries, but you only have to venture slightly further away and you’ll come across hidden gems like bar Filly Brook on Grove Green Road, music venue Luna Lounge in Bushwood, or the The Hitchcock Hotel in Upper Leytonstone. Travel a little beyond and you’ll find further contrast with the vast green space that Hollow Ponds and the Wanstead Flats provide. Simply put, you’ll never get bored in Leytonstone.
