IF YOU LIVED HERE…

You'll be enjoying all the recent improvements to this beautiful red brick home, making it all the more easy to develop the property skyward, should you wish (subject to the usual permissions). You've a brand new roof, an integrated ladder for easy access to the loft and new double-glazed windows. The entire property has undergone re-electrification, with added plug sockets throughout.

Through that canary yellow front door and up the stairs sits your 175 square foot lounge with a triple set of east-facing windows, striking period fireplace and cosy carpet. Both bedrooms are solid doubles of 105 and 115 square feet respectively, each enjoying leafy views. Your bathroom's a boutique affair with gleaming lapis blue letterbox tiles, a rainfall shower over the curved tub and a vessel sink. Your kitchen's just as sleek, and to the rear your west-facing stretch of garden is expertly landscaped with Trulawn punctuated by thriving beds leading to a sun-laden al fresco dining area.

Outside and the amenities of Lea Bridge Road are gathered on your doorstep, including Lea Bridge library for everything from literature to Life Goals classes. On Markhouse Road itself you have Walthamstow Leisure Centre and Dench Fitness for gyms and swims. At the top sits entrepreneurial hub CRATE St James and a whole host of remote working spots for coffee connoisseurs. Follow the High Street through London's longest street market to find the mall, Empire cinema and a choice of onward destinations from bustling Hoe Street to picturesque Walthamstow Village.

a word from the owners...

"We have really enjoyed making this corner of Walthamstow our first family home. We have been here for the past 5 years and have especially loved the proximity to parks and nature as well as being part of a thriving urban community. We have loved exploring the Waterworks Nature Reserve, Walthamstow Wetlands and the Marshes as well as visiting the horses at Lee Valley Riding Centre and walking along the canal. There are plenty of cafes and lovely foodie hotspots to check out nearby too. It has been such a family friendly place to live with lots of activities for children and opportunities to meet other young families at baby and toddler groups and events. Our toddler has loved exploring the many local parks and playgrounds, of which there are at least 6 in easy walking distance but St James and Jubilee Parks have been our favourites. Lea Bridge Library is right around the corner and is one of our favourite spaces and Leyton Leisure Centre has a fantastic pool as well as gym and classes. Patchworks also always have some kind of interesting event going on so there's never an opportunity to be bored! Our neighbours have been welcoming and inviting and we have really felt part of a community on Markhouse Corner."

Our Local Guide:
Walthamstow

Markhouse Road, Walthamstow — Stow Brothers

Situated on the edge of spacious Epping Forest, but every inch urban London, Walthamstow is one of those rare locations where you can have your (artisan) cake and eat it too.

Built from proper East End roots, the rapidly expanding community has transformed the area into a buzzy, creative hub and destination in its own right, making Walthamstow’s close proximity to central London less relevant than it perhaps once was (although if you must leave, it’s only a short hop on the Victoria line or London Overground). In fact, these days you’re more likely to see daytrippers coming into the area, keen to sample its varied offerings of food, drink, culture and green space. However, lucky locals get the added benefit of being part of a genuinely cheery community – and amongst the first to know about that latest hot new opening.
