a word from the owners.....

"Mapperley Drive is a really special place. Being set back from the road, high on Oak Hill makes the house feel really secluded, despite being walking distance to Highams Park and South Woodford - where you'll find everything you need. Living opposite Epping Forest has been wonderful. You can head off on a forest walk at a moment's notice and the scenery is ever-changing. You can take a stroll to Highams Park lake through the forest in less than ten minutes, or walk to Hollow Ponds and Wood Street in the opposite direction. Looking out of the windows you have expansive views over London, particularly enjoyable on fireworks night, NYE and spectacular sunsets throughout the year. The neighbours are friendly, welcoming and engaged in the local community. "

Mapperley Drive, Woodford Green — Stow Brothers

In case you hadn’t already picked up on the clues in the name, Woodford Green is a charming sanctuary of leafy loveliness within a short hop of Central London. Yes, you read that right – duck ponds, cricket greens and quaint pubs… all just 30-ish minutes from Oxford Circus. No wonder savvy families have been making the area home for a while now – the area’s excellent schools are just the icing on the cake.

Thanks to its close proximity to Epping Forest, visitors head to Woodford Green for scenic walks, and then refuel at one of the area’s cosy traditional pubs such as the Travellers Friend or The Cricketers. There’s also a lively food scene, but just low key enough to ensure the neighbourhood has a close-knit, villagey vibe.
