4 Bedroom

2 Bath

A splendidly spacious and immaculately finished four bedroom family home, artfully extended and developed in keeping with the original architecture, and with a wealth of vintage features throughout. All just moments from Forest Gate station.

There's no shortage of natural space nearby either, the vast expanse of Wanstead Flats (the southernmost part of Epping Forest) is less than a half mile on foot any time you want to escape the City.

IF YOU LIVED HERE...

You'll have 1500 square feet of living space, impeccably developed and full of highlights. First impressions are immediately impressive, with a charming exposed brick wall running down one side of your entrance hall. Solid oak herringbone flooring flows underfoot, on into your twenty three foot deep through lounge. In here twin jet black vintage hearths offset the cream finish running up to the picture rail, itself accentuating the gloriously high ceilings. To the front a large bay window bathes the space in natural light.

To the rear you have the covetable open plan kitchen/diner, more herringbone flooring flowing throughout all 250 square feet, charmingly lit by a bank of skylights and a rear wall of floor to ceiling Crittal doors, framing garden views. A substantial rank of cabinets run down one side, finished in soft sage green and home to a suite of high end integrated appliances, brass fittings and marbled countertops. A matching chef's island takes centre stage below designer pendulum lighting.

Outside, and your immaculately landscaped rear garden consists of a pristine patio giving way to a generous length of Trulawn, flanked by paths, beds and timber fencing, before ending in a sizeable expanse of patio, barely overlooked and home to bespoke timber seating. Back inside and follow that wall of exposed brick upstairs for the first of your four bedrooms. Your principal sleeper to the front is 165 square feet with sage green colour scheme and exposed brick chimney breast, while bedroom two is a similarly styled double with a garden view.

The first floor's rounded out by a handy utility room plus the sumptuous family bathroom. In here you have a freestanding clawfoot tub and walk-in rainfall shower, both finished with brass fittings, vertical jade letterbox tiles and microcement. Delectable. Head into the expertly realised loft conversion now for two more bedrooms; a solid double to the rear plus a 200 square affair to the front, with exposed brick accents, Juliet balcony, skylights and a boutique en suite shower room, dressed in white and striking onyx trim.

WHAT ELSE?

- Outside and, as noted, Forest Gate station is barely five minutes' walk for the speedy Elizabeth line. From here it's just thirteen minutes to Liverpool Street or eighteen to Tottenham Court Road, putting both the City and West End less than a half hour away door to door.
- The railway arches of Winchelsea Road are just five minutes on foot and the heart of an ever evolving social hub, home to a fine range of independent bars, restaurants and and cafes, including the much loved Wild Goose Bakery and Wanstead Kitchen.
- Parents will be pleased to find no fewer than twenty two primary/secondary schools rated 'Outstanding' or 'Good' all less than twenty minutes' walk. The 'Outstanding' Forest Gate Community School is just five minutes around the corner.

Our Local Guide:
Forest Gate

Macdonald Road, Forest Gate — Stow Brothers

If you’ve already heard Chiwetel Ejiofor or Idris Elba proudly discussing their hometown, you probably don’t need us to convince you of Forest Gate’s merits, but for those who haven’t, let us catch you up…

With a heritage rooted in culture, it’s not surprising that Forest Gate has a strong creative community today. During just one week in the 60s, the Upper Cut Club music venue there hosted – deep breath – The Who, the Animals, the Spencer Davis Group, Geno Washington and Jimi Hendrix. These days you’re more likely to find the area’s artistic-types supping drinks in the cool cafes and bars. Along with the period property and proximity to green space, this independent scene has been the main draw for new arrivals to the area, although the fact that Forest Gate is now on the Crossrail’s Elizabeth line has definitely helped nudge people in the right direction.
