a word from the owners...

"From the moment we walked through the door, we fell in love with this house; the Victorian features, the big sunny garden for hosting BBQs, the kitchen/diner for cozy dinners and the space to live and work at home. It's been a perfect first home and we have so many happy memories that we've shared with friends and family here. In the last 4 years, we've seen the area grow and lots of new bars, restaurants and shops pop up. Our local favourites include; Kotch for the best Italian stone baked Pizza & Negronis, Singburi for homecooked Thai food, Allegra for a fine dining treat, Forest Gate Tavern for a Sunday Roast, Signorelli for coffee and Wild Goose Bakery for warm sourdough on a Saturday morning. We're also located within easy reach of East Village and Hackney Wick, which we love to spend time in. We've enjoyed many Sunday's walking down the canal and exploring all the pop-ups around Here East. Louise Road is quiet with a real community feel. It has its own Whatsapp group full of likeminded people who go for drinks at the Cart & Horses & the The Holly Tree pub and help each other out if they're in need of a dog sitter or taking in a package when someone is out. It's a warm and welcoming neighbourhood with lots of opportunity for growth with the new Elizabeth Line 5 mins walk away, taking you into central London in under 20 mins. We'll be sad to leave this home but we know someone else we enjoy it, just as much as we have."

Our Local Guide:

Louise Road, Stratford — Stow Brothers

Given it’s been almost a decade since the Olympic torch touched down in Stratford, it’s probably time to let this part of East London shine on its own. It truly is a destination in its own right, with a multitude of restaurants, bars and pubs cropping up in the area, and that’s before we’ve even mentioned one of the largest shopping centres in Europe. Yep, Westfield might draw most visitors to the area, but Stratford’s Market Village is a hidden gem and where you’ll get a true flavour of the community.

Of course, we do have to acknowledge the legacy of the London 2012 Games and the regeneration it brought to the area, including the soon to be opened East Bank. With the former Olympic venues open to the public, residents have an incredibly advanced sport and fitness facilities, while the ArcelorMittal Orbit, the world’s longest helter skelter, is quite literally Stratford’s standout feature.

Transport links

Stratford’s quite the hub. With the launch of the Crossrail, it is now on the Elizabeth line, while high-speed trains already travel between Stratford International and Ashford. The Overground runs to North London, while the Jubilee line and DLR go to Canary Wharf. Finally, London Underground’s Central line nips to the West End.

Vibrant shopping district

What can’t you get in Stratford? It really is a shopper’s delight, with everything from the luxury boutiques, high street retailers and department stores at Westfield Stratford, to the essential shops and market stalls within the Stratford Centre, and the independent stores of the East Village.

Recent regeneration/Post-Olympics

A key aim for the successful London 2012 Games bid was the wider regeneration of the area, which has resulted in one of the world’s largest cultural districts, East Bank. Universities UCL and UAL’s London College of Fashion will join the BBC, Sadler’s Wells and the V&A, opening 2022-2023.
