A bright and beautiful four bedroom family home, lovingly developed and impeccably finished in a mix of vintage and twenty-first century styles over all three storeys. All just a short stroll from Wanstead Flats and Forest Gate station.

Your gorgeously landscaped rear garden is also home to a fully powered, insulated and flawlessly finished garden studio, complete with WC and storage. The perfect home office, for that all important work/life balance.

You'll find striking highlights everywhere you look, with all the love and expertise that's been poured into this property over the years very much in evidence throughout. Your through lounge alone is a work of art. Glossy blonde herringbone hardwood flows underfoot, complementing stately grey walls and ceilings, the vintage fireplace to the front and striking statement chimney breast in the rear section.

Grand vintage style gives way to bright, sleek modernity as you step through floor-to-ceiling Fabco steel doors into your twenty seven foot long kitchen/diner. A bank of skylights run down one flank, with a bespoke suite of handmade soft pink cabinets opposite, finished in brass trim with granite worktops and marble splashbacks. A matching chef's island, with waterfall feature, takes centre stage under pendulum lighting, and a rear wall of bi-fold doors throw it all open to the garden.

Out here a flawless patio, surrounded by high brick walls, gives way to an elegantly landscaped mix of lawn and thriving greenery, all beautifully secluded and ending in that lovely home office. Upstairs your principal bedroom to the front is a vision in white with pristine timber floorboards and matching window shutters. Bedrooms two and three round out the first floor sleeping arrangements, both similarly styled doubles.

The first of your two bathrooms is a fully tiled wetroom with micro hexagons underfoot and white metro tiles from floor-to-ceiling. A rainfall shower sits above it all for an invigorating morning experience. Your loft conversion is an expansive double-Dormer affair, head up the skylit staircase for your dual aspect penthouse principal sleeper, an exposed brick wall sitting between twin skylights to the front and a Juliet balcony to the rear. Finally, your second bathroom is another masterpiece, with a vintage clawfoot tub sat against a striped skylit backdrop. Signature glossy herringbone Amtico lies underfoot.

- Wanstead Flats, once the favoured playground of Tudor kings and still some of the wildest wide open green space for miles around, lies barely three minutes' walk from your front door. Perfect for morning jogs or evening strolls.
- Parents will be pleased to find no fewer than eight 'Outstanding' primary/secondary schools in a one mile radius alone. The 'Outstanding' Sandringham Primary is just ten minutes' stroll.
- Forest Gate station is just half a mile on foot for the speedy new Elizabeth Line and direct thirteen minute runs to Liverpool Street, putting the City less than a half hour away door to door. Heading to the West End? Tottenham Court Road is just five minutes further.

a word from the owners...

"We love to spend time with friends and family in our kitchen and enjoying evenings in the garden with the lovely scents of jasmine, wisteria and roses which bloom from May until September. Our garden benefits from sunshine from morning to evening so we designed an inside/outside space to make the most of this during the summer months, and a morning coffee spot in sunlight outside the garden studio. During the winter we sit in front of an open fire in our cosy and dimly lit living area. We love living within the Lorne Road community. One of our favourite things about living here, apart from our wonderful neighbours, is the proximity to the Wanstead flats (Epping Forest), which we frequently use for walks and strolls, birthday celebrations, cycling, socialising and picnics, sports and exercise."

Our Local Guide:
Forest Gate

Lorne Road, Forest Gate — Stow Brothers

If you’ve already heard Chiwetel Ejiofor or Idris Elba proudly discussing their hometown, you probably don’t need us to convince you of Forest Gate’s merits, but for those who haven’t, let us catch you up…

With a heritage rooted in culture, it’s not surprising that Forest Gate has a strong creative community today. During just one week in the 60s, the Upper Cut Club music venue there hosted – deep breath – The Who, the Animals, the Spencer Davis Group, Geno Washington and Jimi Hendrix. These days you’re more likely to find the area’s artistic-types supping drinks in the cool cafes and bars. Along with the period property and proximity to green space, this independent scene has been the main draw for new arrivals to the area, although the fact that Forest Gate is now on the Crossrail’s Elizabeth line has definitely helped nudge people in the right direction.
