a word from the owner...

"If I was planning to return to the UK I would not be selling this property! The area is surprisingly quiet considering how close it is to the centre of town. Directly across Forest Road (at the end of the street) is William Morris/ Lloyd Park perfect for family picnics or for running in the mornings. It's also the venue for many cultural events throughout the year and is literally within a 3 minute leisurely stroll. If you prefer privacy, the garden catches the sun nicely on bright days while being sufficiently sheltered when the weather is less balmy to still enjoy it. Regular shopping is easy as there are quite a few supermarkets within walking distance (I never owned a car while living there) as well as the market obviously. On Sundays there is still a thriving farmers market which I used to love going to. The street retains a lovely community feeling and I maintain contact with some of my old neighbours there. Having family abroad means Stansted airport only being about half an hour away is a real plus. In spite of being so close to the A503 (Forest Rd) and near the station (easy access to Central London via Victoria line or Liverpool St. via overground) there is no traffic noise."

Our Local Guide:
Walthamstow

Jewel Road, Walthamstow — Stow Brothers

Situated on the edge of spacious Epping Forest, but every inch urban London, Walthamstow is one of those rare locations where you can have your (artisan) cake and eat it too.

Built from proper East End roots, the rapidly expanding community has transformed the area into a buzzy, creative hub and destination in its own right, making Walthamstow’s close proximity to central London less relevant than it perhaps once was (although if you must leave, it’s only a short hop on the Victoria line or London Overground). In fact, these days you’re more likely to see daytrippers coming into the area, keen to sample its varied offerings of food, drink, culture and green space. However, lucky locals get the added benefit of being part of a genuinely cheery community – and amongst the first to know about that latest hot new opening.
