2 Bedroom

A perfectly pristine two double bedroom purpose-built apartment with private garden on the ground floor of a tree-lined terrace in Markhouse Village. You're in central Walthamstow here, within easy reach of all our borough has to offer.

St James Street, at the end of Walthamstow High Street, is just five minutes around the corner and teeming with places to eat, drink and work remotely. If you like local history then see if you can spot the ghost pawnbrokers sign from 1901.

IF YOU LIVED HERE…

You'll be relishing cosy Sunday morning lie-ins in your gorgeous, south-facing 145 square foot primary bedroom. With a bay window filling the room with swathes of natural light, a vintage ceiling rose overhead and crisp white walls, this is quite the solace. Next door and bedroom two (currently in use as a lounge) comes in at 110 square feet and enjoys a charming garden view.

The reception's the versatile and flawless heart of your new home – open the patio door here to step out into your forty foot rear garden. Currently a low-maintenance patio area ending in two sheds, this is a spot set to bloom with some green-fingered know-how and perhaps some landscaping. Back inside and your kitchen's smart black worktops, tiled backsplashes and pine suite make for an inviting space, while the bathroom comes dressed in gleaming large format cream tiles and a shower over the tub.

You're just a six minute stroll from St James Street station, where you can hop on the Overground and alight at Liverpool Street in a quarter of an hour, or linger and find your new favourite cafe – those on offer at entrepreneurial hub CRATE St James come highly recommended. Walthamstow Central station is walkable in eleven minutes, so you can get to central London in around thirty minutes door to door. You'll find Hoe Street and Walthamstow Village's dazzling array of esoteric wining and dining establishments within a stone's throw of this superlative spot, too.

WHAT ELSE?

- Schools rated 'Outstanding' nearby include South Grove Primary, St. Saviour's and Greenleaf Primary. There's also an excellent choice of nurseries nearby for early years including Footsteps, just five minutes on foot.
- If you're craving natural environs then jump on a 230 bus two minutes away on South Grove to explore the vast Walthamstow Wetlands nature reserve. Get off at the Ferry Boat Inn to start your journey with some light refreshment.
- You never have to go far for tempura, urumaki rolls or fresh sashimi, as Iyo Sushi (named after a Japanese city) is just six minutes' walk away on Markhouse Road.

a word from the owner...

"It’s a lovely property, I enjoyed the location as it’s near 3 train stations, and everything else: local market, the mall, supermarkets, coffee shops, restaurants, and the neighbourhood is very friendly, they have a street WhatsApp group. The property heats very quickly and keep the house warm for a long time as it’s well insulated. It has smart meter. The council tax is very reasonable, the bills generally were very low. Also it was so easy and quick to rent due to the excellent location. The garden view is lovely from the inside and we enjoyed BBQs in the summer too, the garden is private. It’s very quite, and very quick to park with the resident parking permit. It’s very clean. We have never had any issues with the upstairs landlord either. Very friendly environment and collaborative... I’ll miss this property. Due to the new mortgage rates we are forced to sell."

Our Local Guide:
Walthamstow

Hove Avenue, Walthamstow — Stow Brothers

Situated on the edge of spacious Epping Forest, but every inch urban London, Walthamstow is one of those rare locations where you can have your (artisan) cake and eat it too.

Built from proper East End roots, the rapidly expanding community has transformed the area into a buzzy, creative hub and destination in its own right, making Walthamstow’s close proximity to central London less relevant than it perhaps once was (although if you must leave, it’s only a short hop on the Victoria line or London Overground). In fact, these days you’re more likely to see daytrippers coming into the area, keen to sample its varied offerings of food, drink, culture and green space. However, lucky locals get the added benefit of being part of a genuinely cheery community – and amongst the first to know about that latest hot new opening.
