A sleekly designed, bright and spacious two bedroom apartment occupying the upper ground floor of a grand Victorian semi detached townhouse, just a couple of minutes' walk from Wanstead High Street, the heart of this loveable East London village.

Nature's never far away here either. The tranquil blue waters of Eagle Pond are just a third of a mile on foot and serve as your gateway to the endlessly explorable wilderness of Epping Forest beyond.

IF YOU LIVED HERE

You'll be enjoying the high ceilings and generous room sizes of the period, with your kitchen/lounge to the fore in more ways than one. Coming in at an eyebrow-raising 250 square foot, with that grand box bay window filling the space with natural light, an imposing vintage marble hearth and mantel taking centre stage and blonde engineered hardwood running underfoot.

Your kitchen area at the back features a generous complement of pristine white fitted cabinets, topped off with bespoke hardwood splashbacks mirroring your floorboards and a full range of integrated appliances. Elsewhere, both bedrooms are solid doubles while your bathroom is an elegantly lit boutique marvel, with a designer rainfall shower over the L-shaped tub and a floating vanity sink.

Wanstead High Street, barely two minutes from your front door, is home to a wonderful collection of thriving independent cafes with any number of superb spots to meet up with friends and indulge in home-made treats. There're plenty of sumptuous gastropubs too, from the elegant environs of The Bull to former coaching inn The Cuckfield. There's also an artisanal butchers, dedicated fishmongers and a traditional Pie & Mash shop, as well as a choice of supermarkets.

WHAT ELSE?

- Snaresbrook tube station is a one minute walk, for direct Central line access to Liverpool Street (fourteen minutes) and Tottenham Court Road (twenty three).
- Did we mention your private rear garden? It's a low maintenance wonder of railway sleeper beds and Trulawn, secluded behind high timber fencing and overseen by mature greenery.
- A brief wander off the beaten track will bring you to Nightingale Lane, just a few minutes off the High Street and home to its own range of award-winning community pubs.

a word from the owner....

"We love this flat and we have refurbished it from our hearts previously, it has been our home and a great place for tenants to rent after us. We will miss it but we still have close ties to Wanstead through our daughter and its time for us to retire in the sun!!"

Our Local Guide:
Wanstead

Hermon Hill, Wanstead — Stow Brothers

Thanks to its royal connections and grand properties, Wanstead has previously been compared to the likes of Twickenham and Richmond, although East Londoners are quick to point out that it has plenty enough merits of its own.

For a start, despite its villagey feel, it’s proudly nestled within London’s most creative quadrant and only a short hop on the Central line from the bright lights of the City. There’s also an abundance of green space – Wanstead Flats, Epping Forest, Wanstead Park and Chalet Wood, with the seasonal display of bluebells in the latter just calling out for an accompanying picnic from one of the well-stocked local delis or cafes. But that’s not to say that Wanstead’s charming pubs and restaurants aren’t delightful to look at themselves – it’ll be deciding which to go for that’s the problem.
