IF YOU LIVED HERE...

You'll love the striking frontage of your new abode, set back from the broad, tree-lined road. Your interior's just as impressive - paned glass windows frame leafy views throughout and every inch is immaculately appointed. Your lounge comes in at a sizeable 230 square feet with a tranquil vista, buttermilk walls and cosy carpet. A working fireplace with ornate mantelpiece takes pride of place, and there's plenty of space for dining.

Next door and your principal bedroom's a huge double of 195 square feet with built-in storage and a plush taupe carpet, while bedroom two's 120 square foot and similarly inviting. Next up and the bathroom's a boutique affair with a tub, separate shower cubicle and gleaming white tiles. Head into the kitchen and you'll find elegant grey cabinetry with matching splashbacks, timber countertops and a Belfast sink. Lastly, your communal garden's manicured lawn and mature foliage are wonderfully peaceful. Plus it all comes chain free, so you can move straight in.

Outside, Wanstead High Street is just six minutes' walk, the bustling heart of our popular East London village. Leafy streets, superb cafes and sumptuous gastropubs have made this a favoured locale among families and city commuters alike. Bare Brew will be your first port of call - Gemma and Lisa will serve you up incredible brunches in dog-friendly environs - and the Bull's bound to be a hit for sumptuous Sunday roasts.

a word from the epxert...

"Being a country girl at heart, for me Wanstead is the perfect blend of village/city living. With excellent transport links into the city, I often meet up with friends to explore the wonders of London. But I also enjoy going for long, leafy walks with Hollow Ponds and Wanstead Park on my doorstep. I was first attracted to Wanstead by its charming High Street, lush green spaces and choice of excellent schools. Since moving here, I have discovered some new favourites — for breakfast La Bakerie, lunch at Otto and The Duke for the best roast around. I love to stay active, and here in Wanstead you have lots to choose from. From organised yoga at Christ Church Green, personal training sessions at Target Fit or jogging around the various nature trails of Epping Forest. There is a great sense of community here in Wanstead, with informative Facebook groups, street parties, a monthly farmers’ market and the local jumble trail. I have made many friends locally, there is a genuine community spirit here and I am proud to call Wanstead my home." KYLI CLAYTON E11 BRANCH MANAGER

Our Local Guide:
Wanstead

Hermon Hill, Wanstead — Stow Brothers

Thanks to its royal connections and grand properties, Wanstead has previously been compared to the likes of Twickenham and Richmond, although East Londoners are quick to point out that it has plenty enough merits of its own.

For a start, despite its villagey feel, it’s proudly nestled within London’s most creative quadrant and only a short hop on the Central line from the bright lights of the City. There’s also an abundance of green space – Wanstead Flats, Epping Forest, Wanstead Park and Chalet Wood, with the seasonal display of bluebells in the latter just calling out for an accompanying picnic from one of the well-stocked local delis or cafes. But that’s not to say that Wanstead’s charming pubs and restaurants aren’t delightful to look at themselves – it’ll be deciding which to go for that’s the problem.
