A palatially appointed, lovingly extended five bedroom family semi detached, laid out over three storeys with a curving front drive and lengthy rear garden. All ideally sat less than five minutes from the open greenery of Highams Park.

Highams Park station is just as handy, barely five minutes away for direct, twenty three minute connections to Liverpool Street, putting the City less than half an hour away door to door.

IF YOU LIVED HERE...

You'll have more than 2000 square feet of sumptuously finished living space to stretch out in. Stroll up your leafy, sheltered driveway, admire that classic vintage frontage and step inside where rich dark hardwood flows underfoot, past timeless mint green wood panelling, and on into your broad hallway, with crimson carpeted stairs rising ahead.

The first of your many receptions sits to the front, a stately dining room illuminated by that vast bow window and with a striking vintage hearth sat in a crimson statement wall, taking centre stage. A handy spare WC sits just off the hall before you reach your dual aspect kitchen/diner. In here cabinets continue that mint green aesthetic, with timber worktops and an elegant metro tiled splashback.

Next door sits the splendid heart of your new home - your 200 square foot second reception, with vintage beams running overhead, an exposed brick hearth and wood burner. It all gives way directly into your equally generous, beautifully bright garden room, with skylights and widescreen, elevated views of your tremendous garden. Out here a raised patio descends to an elegantly manicured length of lawn, surrounded by thriving beds and ending in a barely overlooked sun deck. A lovely outdoor solace.

Upstairs you have a 175 square foot principal sleeper to the front, luxuriously appointed with crimson carpet and vintage wallpaper up to the picture rail. It's complemented by an en suite bathroom, tiled from top to toe and home to a classic clawfoot rolltop tub. There's a second en suite sleeper to the rear, finished in sky blue with integrated storage over the bed and a unique, open plan bathroom accessed through an archway. A third double bedroom and dedicated study complete the first floor, while up in your loft conversion you'll find your skylit fourth bedroom and third en suite bathroom.

WHAT ELSE?

- As noted Highams Park is just five minutes' walk from your front door. Home to the famous Highams Park Lake, this great expanse of rolling greenery also has splendid views over London.
- With that large driveway you could convert your sizeable garage and still have plenty of parking. Either way, drivers can be on the arterial North Circular in just five minutes.
- Parents will be pleased to find two 'Outstanding' schools within easy walking distance, and a further twenty one within a ten minute drive.

a word from the owner...

"We moved into this house in 1984 and are only the second owners of this lovely property. Over the years we have constantly maintained and improved the house. It is a beautiful family home and we have raised our children here. We have also really enjoyed the surrounding area, as we are so close to the forest, Highams Park Lake and park. We also love how easy it is to get into central London in half an hour. Handsworth Avenue is a short walk away from all of the local amenities, including lovely restaurants and shops, as well as the doctors and schools. We are lucky to have two really lovely sets of neighbours. Handsworth Avenue is a wonderful place to live and we have thoroughly enjoyed our time here."

Our Local Guide:
Highams Park

Handsworth Avenue, Highams Park — Stow Brothers

Not everyone in the capital has heard of Highams Park, and that’s only a good thing. Although it’s well connected to Central London on the Overground to Liverpool Street, it’s tucked out of sight enough to ensure that the picturesque woodland and coffee shops have a slightly exclusive feel. That’s not to say that the locals are a cliquey bunch though – far from it, they’ve been welcoming savvy families and individuals after a little more bang for their buck for years.

All the extra space offered up from Epping Forest and Highams Park itself might be the main draw, but newcomers stay for the perks; the silver-lining of the secret slowly getting out is a vibrant and buzzing community which has created a lively food and drink scene.
