word from the owner....

"We have lived at this address for over 11 years and thoroughly enjoyed our time here. We are very fortunate to have great neighbours, who take parcels in for each other, keep an eye on each others’ homes when one is on holiday and generally provide help and support whenever it’s needed. Beyond our immediate neighbours we live in a friendly road where people greet each other when passing by. The WhatsApp group was established approximately two years ago. The group keeps its members in touch with local initiatives and events and includes everything from planning under consideration by the Council to community events being run in South Chingford, North Chingford and those that are Borough wide. Chase Lane Park is the local park that’s only a 5 minute walk away. The park is compact and offers a playground with swings, slide and picnic benches, it also offers skateboarding ramps, a fenced-off dog ‘exercising’ area, as well as a playing field. Chase Lane Primary School holds a Summer Fair in July that is supported by the local community, it is also the polling station for general and local elections. We also live close to a GP surgery. Hampton Road is a pleasant area, sociable enough to feel part of a community, yet private enough to offer a sense of sanctuary."

Our Local Guide:
Chingford

Hampton Road, Chingford — Stow Brothers

Chingford has flourished more quickly than people have caught on in recent years, making it something of a well kept secret for locals (it wasn’t us who told you). Full of village charm but only 26 minutes from central London, it’s easy to see the appeal.

With sprawling parks in the centre and the 6,000-acre Epping Forest lining the northern boundary, there’s more open space than you can shake a native hornbeam stick at, no wonder that Chingford has spawned two England football captains in recent decades.

For those looking to refuel after burning off all that energy in nature, there’s a thriving food and drink scene, although let’s be clear that the area’s admired status pre-dates the macchiato. Local historical landmark the Queen Elizabeth’s Hunting Lodge was built for Henry VIII way back in 1543.
