a word from the owner.....

"We have been living in Forest Gate for almost 9 years now, we've absolutely loved living here as it has everything you need right on your doorstep. We are surrounded by green spaces, and can choose where to walk our dog from Wanstead Flats, Plashet park or West Ham park. The area has an up-and-coming vibe of independent boutiques, eateries, and bars, which is constantly expanding - Tipi Coffee opened just last month. We are just a short walk to 3 stations, so getting into central London is really easy, especially now with the Elizabeth line. At the weekend we often meet friends for a glass of wine at Joyau or for an all-trimmings roast at The Holly Tree. We also have many of London's "must eat" Indian restaurants close by. It's been a brilliant home for our family, and we're sure whoever moves in next will love it just as much as we have."

Halley Road, Forest Gate — Stow Brothers

If you’ve already heard Chiwetel Ejiofor or Idris Elba proudly discussing their hometown, you probably don’t need us to convince you of Forest Gate’s merits, but for those who haven’t, let us catch you up…

With a heritage rooted in culture, it’s not surprising that Forest Gate has a strong creative community today. During just one week in the 60s, the Upper Cut Club music venue there hosted – deep breath – The Who, the Animals, the Spencer Davis Group, Geno Washington and Jimi Hendrix. These days you’re more likely to find the area’s artistic-types supping drinks in the cool cafes and bars. Along with the period property and proximity to green space, this independent scene has been the main draw for new arrivals to the area, although the fact that Forest Gate is now on the Crossrail’s Elizabeth line has definitely helped nudge people in the right direction.
