Over the years, we have organised several street parties that not only help connect us but also raise money for charity. Wanstead continues to thrive, with an abundance of excellent local primary schools and green spaces. The High Street is bustling with fantastic independent pubs, restaurants, shops, and services. The Central line is just a five-minute walk from our home, and both the A12 and A406 are only minutes away. We are staying in the area, as we can't imagine a better place to live and raise our children."

Gordon Road, Wanstead — Stow Brothers

Thanks to its royal connections and grand properties, Wanstead has previously been compared to the likes of Twickenham and Richmond, although East Londoners are quick to point out that it has plenty enough merits of its own. 

For a start, despite its villagey feel, it’s proudly nestled within London’s most creative quadrant and only a short hop on the Central line from the bright lights of the City. There’s also an abundance of green space – Wanstead Flats, Epping Forest, Wanstead Park and Chalet Wood, with the seasonal display of bluebells in the latter just calling out for an accompanying picnic from one of the well-stocked local delis or cafes. But that’s not to say that Wanstead’s charming pubs and restaurants aren’t delightful to look at themselves – it’ll be deciding which to go for that’s the problem.
