Our children attended both the local Roding Primary and West Hatch secondary schools, still both great schools. We are lucky to have Claybury and Ray Park on our doorstep, both lovely places for walks and easy access into town from Woodford station, just a 15 minute walk away. Woodford Bridge has great community spirit, really handy local shops (Co-op, Costa etc.) and also benefits from the sporting facilities at Ashton Playing Fields."

In case you hadn’t already picked up on the clues in the name, Woodford Green is a charming sanctuary of leafy loveliness within a short hop of Central London. Yes, you read that right – duck ponds, cricket greens and quaint pubs… all just 30-ish minutes from Oxford Circus. No wonder savvy families have been making the area home for a while now – the area’s excellent schools are just the icing on the cake.

Thanks to its close proximity to Epping Forest, visitors head to Woodford Green for scenic walks, and then refuel at one of the area’s cosy traditional pubs such as the Travellers Friend or The Cricketers. There’s also a lively food scene, but just low key enough to ensure the neighbourhood has a close-knit, villagey vibe.
