Unfolding over three floors, this beautiful four-bedroom period home is located in Upper Walthamstow, a short walk from both Epping Forest and the thriving Wood Street area, which has excellent transport links.

Thanks to imaginative renovation work, it’s a light-filled space fit for modern living while surrounded by all the beauty and charm of the period it was built in. The large rear garden and two stylish bathrooms are just a few of the many highlights.

IF YOU LIVED HERE…

You’ll really appreciate the love and consideration that’s gone into updating this home. From bespoke carpentry to the thoughtful decor found throughout, it seems as though every inch has been considered, so you’ll be able to relax and feel at home.

In your reception room, enjoy the light that spills through the bay windows, showcasing the pristine timber floor. The decor here is tastefully neutral, so you can effortlessly add your own personal touches.

The adjoining kitchen-diner has been smartly designed, with a counter dividing up the space without impacting on the flow of light. The fittings are sleek and stylish, but still with a flair of tradition in keeping with the rest of the home. At the rear, the rustic-style conservatory will act as a fantastic extension of your living space, not to mention a convenient utility area. The considered forest green colour palette balances beautifully with the view of your leafy garden. Whether you have green fingers or not, you’ll love spending time amongst the mature foliage here.

On your first floor, you’ll find three immaculate bedrooms, and a stunning family bathroom, while in the loft there’s a pristine master bedroom with ample storage and another elegant bathroom.

Outside, you have a fantastic neighbourhood to explore… Head nine minutes on foot towards St Peters-in-the-Forest to enjoy the tranquility of Epping Forest, which is dotted with clearings perfect for picnics, or head in the other direction towards Hollow Ponds for more sprawling nature and even a boating lake.

Fancy more of an urban buzz? You’re in luck because the nearby Wood Street is having a real moment - and it’s right on your doorstep. Not only does it look great thanks to the good work of local mural studio Wood Street Walls, but several exciting new stores and eateries have popped up amongst the old favourites, like the brilliantly unique Wood Street Indoor Market and local institution garden centre Lancasters. Not sure where to start? Try excellent beer shop-cum-bar Clapton Craft, rustic Balkan dining spot Lacey Nook, tasty brunch spot Dudley’s and award-win bakery Chocolatine, but there’s much more.

You’re also only a 12 minute stroll to the Ravenswood Industrial Estate, which is home to the ever-popular God’s Own Junkyard, as well as breweries Wildcard Brewery Tap, Pillars Brewery, Trap, plus gin palace Mother’s Ruin.

WHAT ELSE?

- Walthamstow Village is only a 15 minute stroll away, where you’ve got everything from tapas food and authentic sushi to fish and chips and gastro grub.
- Parents will be pleased to know you have plenty of great primary/secondary schools in the area.
- If you want a change of scene from the forest, head to Fellowship Square for the fantastic fountains, a delight for people of all ages, and cultural events organised by the local authority - it’s a 20 minute walk from your front door.

a word from the owner...

"We have loved living here. The house and neighbourhood has been great for us. We can walk to the top of the hill and be in the Forest in 5 minutes and jump on the overground at the bottom of the hill and be in the City in little more than 20 minutes. Wood street has changed a lot over the last 6 years, but it still has its own character - the indoor market is fantastic - plus we can now buy the best bread and croissants. We've made great friends on our road who we've spent many many hours hanging out with in the Forest and Bisterne Avenue Park (pirate ship park to all the local children). In the spring the bluebells are amazing in Greenway Avenue Nature Reserve definitely one of my favourite things. As are the two huge flowering cherry trees in our garden - one pink and one white. But probably most of all we'll miss the house. It's felt like home from the moment we first walked in. I hope another family will be as happy here as we have been."

Our Local Guide:
Walthamstow

Fyfield Road, Walthamstow — Stow Brothers

Situated on the edge of spacious Epping Forest, but every inch urban London, Walthamstow is one of those rare locations where you can have your (artisan) cake and eat it too.

Built from proper East End roots, the rapidly expanding community has transformed the area into a buzzy, creative hub and destination in its own right, making Walthamstow’s close proximity to central London less relevant than it perhaps once was (although if you must leave, it’s only a short hop on the Victoria line or London Overground). In fact, these days you’re more likely to see daytrippers coming into the area, keen to sample its varied offerings of food, drink, culture and green space. However, lucky locals get the added benefit of being part of a genuinely cheery community – and amongst the first to know about that latest hot new opening.
