A bright, sleek and pristine three bedroom Victorian family home. Flawlessly finished throughout, with a wealth of natural light and sociable space. Outside, and the plentiful cross-town connections of Forest Gate are just a five minute walk.

Your secluded rear courtyard is worthy of a special mention. As expertly arranged as the rest of this property, out here you have integrated planters and seating, bespoke timber fencing and plenty of space for dining al fresco.

IF YOU LIVED HERE...

You'll have a home full of highlights. The sizeable hallway is a superb introduction, wide and welcoming with the smoky grey stair carpet ascending on the right and large format herringbone hardwood underfoot. It all flows out into your open plan ground floor lounge and kitchen/diner, twenty four feet deep with clear sight-lines to the rear wall, where a set of bi-folding doors open it all up to that wonderful courtyard.

The kitchen area's decked out in pristine white cabinetry with a full range of integrated appliances, marbled work surfaces and a lovely breakfast bar. Your bathroom completes the storey, finished in pristine white metro tiling from floor to ceiling, a designer suite and rainfall shower over the tub. Upstairs, your principal bedroom is a generous 170 square feet, with classic timber shutters on the triple window set. Bedroom two's another double, while number three is a generous single.

Outside and the epic greenery of Wanstead Flats is literally just a moment away at the end of your road. Once the favoured hunting grounds for Tudor kings and queens, this is still the wildest wide open natural space for miles around. Perfect for morning jogs or evening strolls around Bandstand Pond, right on your doorstep. You also have the local social hub of Winchelsea Road around five minutes walk away, home to temptations from Wild Goose Bakery to The Wanstead Kitchen.

WHAT ELSE?

- As noted, it's just five minutes walk to Forest Gate station and the Elizabeth line. From here it's thirteen minutes direct to Liverpool Street for the City, or nineteen to Tottenham Court Road for the West End.
- Local schools are superb with no fewer than seven 'Outstanding' primary/secondaries less than a mile away on foot. The superb Forest Gate Community School is just five minutes walk from your front door.
- More transport options include Wanstead Park overground just a few minutes away for the Gospel Oak to Barking Riverside line. You also have a private driveway and drivers can be on the North Circular in ten minutes.

Our Local Guide:
Forest Gate

Forest Side, Forest Gate — Stow Brothers

If you’ve already heard Chiwetel Ejiofor or Idris Elba proudly discussing their hometown, you probably don’t need us to convince you of Forest Gate’s merits, but for those who haven’t, let us catch you up…

With a heritage rooted in culture, it’s not surprising that Forest Gate has a strong creative community today. During just one week in the 60s, the Upper Cut Club music venue there hosted – deep breath – The Who, the Animals, the Spencer Davis Group, Geno Washington and Jimi Hendrix. These days you’re more likely to find the area’s artistic-types supping drinks in the cool cafes and bars. Along with the period property and proximity to green space, this independent scene has been the main draw for new arrivals to the area, although the fact that Forest Gate is now on the Crossrail’s Elizabeth line has definitely helped nudge people in the right direction.

Great Pubs

Wine bars, gastro pubs, microbrews, traditional boozers… With so many drinking establishments in Forest Gate, taking ‘a trip to the local’ can be a tricky decision. The CiderHouse, The Holly Tree and Forest Gate Tavern are just a few of the places to choose between.

Plenty of period property

Forest Gate has an abundance of Victorian housing, ranging from terraces in the area dubbed ‘Forest Gate Village’ to semis and detached in the Woodgrange Estate conservation area. Whether you’re after a doer-upper or recently renovated period property, there should be something for your budget.
