This lovely one bedroom apartment is on the first floor of an elegant double-fronted Victorian property. Set back from the road it has off-street parking spaces and is within easy walking distance of Leyton Midland Road overground station and Leytonstone tube station.

IF YOU LIVED HERE

You’d appreciate the generous proportions of this period apartment, with original features such as dado rails, picture rails, and cornicing rose alongside modern updates including double-glazed windows and a contemporary kitchen and bathroom.

The apartment is an excellent example of a conversion, with an intelligent layout that optimises the 457 square feet of living space and great light levels due to its location on the first floor of the building. A small central hallway leads directly to the living room, bedroom and bathroom so no space is wasted. The separate kitchen is at the rear of the apartment, accessed via the living room.

The main living space is a large square room measuring 12’11” by 12’3”. This room has great natural light from a west-facing window that has leafy garden views and plenty of space for a dining table and sofas. There’s easy access to the kitchen through an open doorway, so the space is ideal for relaxing and entertaining, with no dirty dishes in sight!

The kitchen is dual aspect and well-equipped. Its white cupboards, wood worktops and metro-tiled splashback give it a crisp, modern feel, and the two windows make it a pleasant space to spend time in, whether you’re preparing a meal or just making a cup of tea or coffee.

The spacious bedroom is at the front of the property. The south-facing bay window is the perfect spot for a desk and still leaves lots of room for a double bed and wardrobes etc. Next to this is the bathroom. This has a large walk-in shower and built-in high gloss white cabinets that provide storage space and house the washbasin and WC. White tiled walls, a mosaic tiled floor, heated towel rail and a mirror with a handy shelf combine to complete the hotel-style ambience.

a word from the owner.....

"Since purchasing as a first time buyer in 2017, I've spent almost six years here and have loved every minute. I was charmed by the clever layout and flexibility of the space in the property, with a separate kitchen down the stairs, which made it really fun to decorate and furnish. The high ceilings and original features make the place feel spacious and homely with lots of light flooding in through the big windows on both sides of the property. The location is wonderful - Forest Drive West is a quiet residential street but with lots to see and do on your doorstep and two stations within 10-12 mins walk. We have made the most of the ever increasing list of shops, restaurants and pubs nearby including the local Gravity Well taproom (one of many in the area!). Leyton Flats are just up the road which is a great walk at any time of the year with open spaces, covered forest paths and the Hollow Ponds to wander round and feed the ducks, and the rest of Epping Forest ready to explore."

Our Local Guide:
Leytonstone

Forest Drive West, Leytonstone — Stow Brothers

There’s more to Leytonstone than first meets the eye. Say the name to one person and they might think of the grand houses around Hollow Ponds, while say it to someone else and they’ll mention burgeoning South Leytonstone, or maybe the popular Bushwood. There are many different pockets, but they’re all united by the same inclusive community who recognise that it’s the balance of it all that makes Leytonstone so great.

The centre is arguably the high street with its eclectic shops and eateries, but you only have to venture slightly further away and you’ll come across hidden gems like bar Filly Brook on Grove Green Road, music venue Luna Lounge in Bushwood, or the The Hitchcock Hotel in Upper Leytonstone. Travel a little beyond and you’ll find further contrast with the vast green space that Hollow Ponds and the Wanstead Flats provide. Simply put, you’ll never get bored in Leytonstone.
