IF YOU LIVED HERE

You'll be immediately impressed by the original character and gorgeous designer features in your reception room. True white paint brightens the room, enhancing the original timber flooring and exposed brick chimney breast. Through your entrance hall you have access to your sizeable contemporary bathroom, with more of those exposed painted bricks and a full white suite with standalone rainfall shower. Your kitchen sits next door, a calming blend of pale sage cabinets, custom made concrete countertops, pendulum lighting and a huge skylight.

Opening the concertina patio doors, you'll step out into your tranquil landscaped garden. A thoughtful blend of patio, foliage, gravel paths and raised relaxation areas. To the rear, there's plenty of space for flowerbeds and vegetables. Back inside on the first floor, you'll find two handsome double bedrooms. Your principal sleeper has an exposed brick feature wall, as well as two large custom made wardrobes, and your second sleeper has views of that beautiful garden.

There's a great range of independent cafes, gastropubs and restaurants on nearby Winchelsea Road. You'll find The Wild Goose Bakery to be full of artisanal bread, great coffee, and sweet treats. A little further along you'll arrive at intimate wine bar Joyau, a great place to meet friends and sample some of their fine natural wines and delicious complimentary plates. The Rookwood Village gastropub sits a little further up on Cann Hall Road, where you can enjoy a craft ale or a hearty brunch from the characterful saloon or the colourful beer garden.

WHAT ELSE?

- There are endless opportunities for exploration in the lush, open grasslands of Wanstead Heath and Flats. Start your adventures from the Dames Road entrance, only half a mile from your door.
- Your new local will be the Forest Tavern, just an eight minute stroll from your home. This welcoming gastropub runs a monthly Supper Club, where you can sample a specially curated menu and accompanying fantastic wines.

a word from the owner........

"The years I have lived at 7 Dean Street have been the best of my life. Whilst I can't solely attribute this to the property itself, this house has played a massive part. Visitors always describe this house as an oasis and I agree - I can't help but feel immediately calm every time I walk through the door. I love the fact that you can see straight through to the glorious garden, which I have turned into an urban idyll. The house is always light and airy in the day and cosy in the evenings, it feels like such a safe place. I will remember fondly long summer lunches at the kitchen table that have spilled into long summer dinners in the garden. There is a huge sense of community in Forest Gate, it's the friendliest place I have lived and I will miss it greatly. Having the Wild Goose cafe, Wanstead Kitchen and The Holly Tree Pub so close has made me the envy of further flung friends not to mention the short walk to the Overground and Lizzy Line. The huge expanse of Wanstead Flats is great for a walk and also having a little park on the doorstep is a bonus. Thank you 7 Dean Street."

Our Local Guide:
Forest Gate

Dean Street, Forest Gate — Stow Brothers

If you’ve already heard Chiwetel Ejiofor or Idris Elba proudly discussing their hometown, you probably don’t need us to convince you of Forest Gate’s merits, but for those who haven’t, let us catch you up…

With a heritage rooted in culture, it’s not surprising that Forest Gate has a strong creative community today. During just one week in the 60s, the Upper Cut Club music venue there hosted – deep breath – The Who, the Animals, the Spencer Davis Group, Geno Washington and Jimi Hendrix. These days you’re more likely to find the area’s artistic-types supping drinks in the cool cafes and bars. Along with the period property and proximity to green space, this independent scene has been the main draw for new arrivals to the area, although the fact that Forest Gate is now on the Crossrail’s Elizabeth line has definitely helped nudge people in the right direction.
