Located in a modern low rise block, it’s in a street of predominantly large Victorian villas.

IF YOU LIVED HERE...

You’d love living in this smart modern apartment with its large windows and lovely landscaped garden. Accessed via its own entrance on the lower ground floor, a central hallway leads to all four rooms – the living room, bedroom, bathroom, and kitchen. The living room and double bedroom are at the front of the property, with the kitchen to the rear and the bathroom in between. All rooms are a good size. The living room (which has a lovely wood floor) can accommodate a large sofa and a dining table, and the bedroom (which is carpeted and has a large mirrored fitted wardrobe) has plenty of space for a kingsize bed and bedroom furniture. Stylish monochrome décor with complementary metro-tiled walls and patterned floor tiles set the scene in the bathroom, which has a bath with a shower and glass screen, a wall-hung washbasin console, and a WC. And there’s lots of natural light and ventilation thanks to an obscured glass window. The kitchen is also full of character with handleless fitted cabinets and discreet integrated appliances set against the backdrop of a hexagonal-tiled splashback and fabulous orange walls. There’s space for a table, and a glazed door opens onto the garden terrace. The attractive low-maintenance garden is a delightful sunny space with a paved terrace and an artificial turf lawn bordered by raised beds with mature planting and smart wood fencing. Facing southwest, it enjoys afternoon and evening sun.

WHAT ELSE?

- Everything you need is just a short walk from your door, from the wide selection of shops and services in central Hackney to the eclectic array of independent stores, cafes, bakeries, and markets in the creative hub of Broadway Market and charming Victoria Park village. For high street shops, the Westfield shopping centre is three stops from Hackney Central.

- Transport connections are excellent, with London Fields (8 min to Liverpool Street) and Hackney Central (7 min to Highbury & Islington, 8 min to Stratford) both about a ten minute walk away.

- Hackney has the most green spaces of any Inner London borough, and you’ll be ideally placed to access two of the best, London Fields (for the lido, meadow, tennis, and cricket) and Well Street Common (for peaceful strolls and picnics), in just 7-8 minutes. It’s also a mere 15 minute walk to Victoria Park and the Olympic Park with its world-class sports facilities is just over a mile away.

a word from the owner...

"The first thing lots of people notice about the flat is how quiet the road is. Because it's not a through road, very few cars come down it. I've really enjoyed the garden - in the Summer it gets the sun from mid morning til almost sunset. The location is great - London Fields is less than 5 minutes one way and Victoria Park 5 minutes the other way. So you've got the bustle of Broadway Market, but you can also quickly be in the park or on the canals and then walk or cycle towards Kings Cross or to Hackney Wick and the Olympic Park."

Darnley Road, Hackney — Stow Brothers

Where do you start with Hackney? It can feel like it’s all been said before, but, of course, it can’t have been because the area is constantly evolving, which is what keeps it so fresh. It’s just what happens when a neighbourhood has such a high population of creative innovators.

Even fans of Hackney’s scruffier edges love the imaginative ways that the area has been regenerated, with thoughtfully-designed stores, bars and coffee shops sitting comfortably alongside sleek architecture and beloved institutions such as Ridley Road Market.

Despite all this urban buzz, the area has a surprisingly large amount of green space, including Hackney Wick, Victoria Park and London Fields, which fill up with a mix of visitors and locals at weekends. Whether they go on to have food at a Michelin-starred restaurant, a pint in The Talbot or a swim in the lido, they’re all united in their love of this most unique community.
