A sleek and spacious five bedroom, double fronted family home, with a vast amount of social, utility and incidental space, plus a large driveway to the front and lengthy garden to the rear. The heart of Wanstead Village is just moments away.

A longstanding and popular destination for families and City workers alike, Wanstead continues to become more and more appealing as the already impressive range of amenities, artisanal stores and gastropubs continues to grow.

IF YOU LIVED HERE

You'll be stretching out in a shade under 2000 square feet of living space, with a diverse collection of rooms including no fewer than three lounges. Your entranceway immediately impresses, unusually expansive at 120 square feet in its own right. Full of light and pristinely finished in pure white and smoky grey, it's the perfect introduction to this impressive home.

All three reception rooms branch off the hallway's hub. Your first, on your left, comes in at a hair under 200 square feet with that broad bow window bathing the blonde floorboards and substantial exposed brick hearth in natural light. To the rear your second is similarly-sized and styled, with more light courtesy of the sliding patio doors opening out onto your garden.

Your dining room, finished in the same white and grey palette as the entrance way, offers more views over the garden, and is laid open to your kitchen, itself smartly appointed with more of that grey hardwood underfoot and pristine white cabinets and counters. Your downstairs WC completes the storey, along with a flexible storage room of 120 square feet, ideal for laundry or further development.

Step out into your garden for a secluded expanse of patio and lawn. Bursting with scope for the green fingered and horticulturally inspired, this is a splendid al fresco solace. Upstairs your first two bedrooms are substantial doubles of 190 and 155 square feet respectively, with the first floor completed by another pair of doubles facing each other across the hall, a ninety square foot single to the front and your family bathroom.

Outside, Wanstead High Street is just a half mile on foot, the bustling heart of this charming East London village. Here you'll find gorgeous gastropubs like the recently revamped The Bull, a range of independent cafes perfect for afternoon meet ups (the home made delicacies at The Larder are especially tempting) a specialist butchers and fishmongers, and plenty more besides, all flanked by the tranquil green spaces of Memorial Green and Christ Church Green.

WHAT ELSE?

- Wanstead tube station is just an eight minute stroll from your front door for a swift sixteen minute run to Liverpool Street via the Central line. That puts the City less than a half hour away door-to-door. Heading to the West End? Tottenham Court Road is just nine minutes further along.
- With your substantial loft space so far untouched, you could take a cue from some of your neighbours and develop your new home further with a Dormer conversion, adding a whole new storey (subject to the usual permissions).
- Local schools are plentiful and excellent. You have thirteen primary/secondaries all within a mile on foot, eight rated 'Good' by Ofsted and an impressive five deemed 'Outstanding'.

a word from the expert....

"Being a country girl at heart, for me Wanstead is the perfect blend of village/city living. With excellent transport links into the city, I often meet up with friends to explore the wonders of London. But I also enjoy going for long, leafy walks with Hollow Ponds and Wanstead Park on my doorstep. I was first attracted to Wanstead by its charming High Street, lush green spaces and choice of excellent schools. Since moving here, I have discovered some new favourites — for breakfast La Bakerie, lunch at Otto and The Duke for the best roast around. I love to stay active, and here in Wanstead you have lots to choose from. From organised yoga at Christ Church Green, personal training sessions at Target Fit or jogging around the various nature trails of Epping Forest. There is a great sense of community here in Wanstead, with informative Facebook groups, street parties, a monthly farmers’ market and the local jumble trail. I have made many friends locally, there is a genuine community spirit here and I am proud to call Wanstead my home." KYLI CLAYTON E11 BRANCH MANAGER

Our Local Guide:
Wanstead

Chestnut Drive, Wanstead — Stow Brothers

Thanks to its royal connections and grand properties, Wanstead has previously been compared to the likes of Twickenham and Richmond, although East Londoners are quick to point out that it has plenty enough merits of its own.

For a start, despite its villagey feel, it’s proudly nestled within London’s most creative quadrant and only a short hop on the Central line from the bright lights of the City. There’s also an abundance of green space – Wanstead Flats, Epping Forest, Wanstead Park and Chalet Wood, with the seasonal display of bluebells in the latter just calling out for an accompanying picnic from one of the well-stocked local delis or cafes. But that’s not to say that Wanstead’s charming pubs and restaurants aren’t delightful to look at themselves – it’ll be deciding which to go for that’s the problem.
