IF YOU LIVED HERE

As you step through the front door, you're welcomed by an open layout that connects the dining and lounge areas to the kitchen. One half of the space features a soothing grey blue colour scheme, while the other is adorned with luxurious black floral wallpaper. A large bay window fills the space with natural light, complemented by polished hardwood flooring and rear aspect leading to the garden. The sleek kitchen offers light wood cabinetry, integrated appliances, double ovens, and striking black granite style worktops, all paired with a sandy textured metro tile splashback for a modern touch.

At the rear of your home, the family bathroom room overlooks the garden and features a walk in cubicle with a rainfall shower and stylish speckled flooring. Luxurious marble effect panelling lines the walls, for a sleek, sophisticated atmosphere. Upstairs, you'll find two generously sized double bedrooms. The larger, front facing sleeper features deep purple walls and plush pink carpeting, along with vintage wardrobes that span the length of the wall. The second bedroom is finished in a cheerful blue, with elegant grey wood flooring adding a modern touch.

Your home is situated on a quiet residential street in the friendly, thriving neighbourhood of Forest Gate. Forest Gate Village itself is at your fingertips, home to independent cafes, pubs, and restaurants such as The Yellow Trike Mediterranean Bistro, Bloom Cafe x Pie Republic, and Forest Tavern. Along the Forest Gate arches, three minutes away, you also have Italian restaurant, Fiore Truck and The Ciderhouse E7 pub. Head in the other direction and you're at top rated, Wild Goose Bakery. There's also plenty of wilder nature on hand, with Wanstead Flats just four minutes from your front door. a word from the owner....

"We've called this house our home for over 40 years and made many good friends and made great memories. Over recent years we have seen Forest Gate re-evolve back to feeling like the community it once was when we were younger with good neighbours and great community events. Many of the railway arches in Forest Gate have been repurposed with independent traders offering a vast range of locally produced fine food and drink, a perfect way to spend an afternoon or evening with friends and family. We have a car but find it far easier to use the excellent transport links to get into central London or even further afield, you can easily get to either the Kent or Essex coast within 90 minutes. Something we enjoy doing on a bright winter/spring day. Forest Gate has lots of green space, Wanstead Flats and just a little further on Wanstead Park but when we feel less energetic we enjoy spending time in our garden. It is a great place to relax and enjoy the surprising tranquillity of a garden in London. With so many happy memories we will be sad to leave Chestnut Avenue but hope that it will bring you as much happiness as it has bought us."

Our Local Guide:
Forest Gate

Chestnut Avenue, Forest Gate — Stow Brothers

If you’ve already heard Chiwetel Ejiofor or Idris Elba proudly discussing their hometown, you probably don’t need us to convince you of Forest Gate’s merits, but for those who haven’t, let us catch you up…

With a heritage rooted in culture, it’s not surprising that Forest Gate has a strong creative community today. During just one week in the 60s, the Upper Cut Club music venue there hosted – deep breath – The Who, the Animals, the Spencer Davis Group, Geno Washington and Jimi Hendrix. These days you’re more likely to find the area’s artistic-types supping drinks in the cool cafes and bars. Along with the period property and proximity to green space, this independent scene has been the main draw for new arrivals to the area, although the fact that Forest Gate is now on the Crossrail’s Elizabeth line has definitely helped nudge people in the right direction.
