"We've been happy in the flat for twenty one years. It started with the two of us, now there are three! The flat is quiet and easy to look after, and the communal gardens have been a source of pleasure. Our daughter has grown up playing on the grass and climbing her favourite tree. The gardens are shared, but we've grown ourselves flowers, tomatoes, potatoes and other veg. The flat comes with it's own parking space, permit controlled so you'll always have room. In Higham Hill there are a good range of shops - Organic Hill is great, or there's a Coop if you prefer. Local facilities include a Post Office, Doctors Surgery and an NHS Dentist. Also some nice cafes, the Tavern on the Hill and local micro breweries if you prefer. We're around ten minutes walk from Walthamstow Wetlands. Public transport is very easy. The Victoria Line terminates at Walthamstow Central (handy for getting a seat in the morning!). The W15 bus stops at the end of the road, and gets you into Walthamstow Central in about ten minutes. (If you prefer it's about a twenty minute walk). Blackhorse Road (stop two on the Victoria Line) is about ten - fifteen minutes walk - handy for trips into town or for work. We're moving with work, but will miss our first home."

Situated on the edge of spacious Epping Forest, but every inch urban London, Walthamstow is one of those rare locations where you can have your (artisan) cake and eat it too. 

Built from proper East End roots, the rapidly expanding community has transformed the area into a buzzy, creative hub and destination in its own right, making Walthamstow’s close proximity to central London less relevant than it perhaps once was (although if you must leave, it’s only a short hop on the Victoria line or London Overground). In fact, these days you’re more likely to see daytrippers coming into the area, keen to sample its varied offerings of food, drink, culture and green space. However, lucky locals get the added benefit of being part of a genuinely cheery community – and amongst the first to know about that latest hot new opening.
