This three storey, two bedroom Victorian mid terrace house in the Blackhorse Lane area of Walthamstow has been thoroughly renovated and extended. In immaculate condition throughout, it has a stylish contemporary interior and a charming low-maintenance landscaped garden. Located close to shops, green spaces, and Blackhorse Road station it’s an ideal family home.

IF YOU LIVED HERE...

You’d appreciate the good room sizes and easy flow of this house, and the considered décor that gives it a calm coherence. Original features sit comfortably alongside contemporary fixtures and fittings, including stripped wood floors and modern double glazed windows, ceiling roses and downlighters, a traditional mantelpiece and modern wood burning stove.

The front door opens into a panelled hallway that leads to the front living room, rear kitchen/diner, and WC/washroom in between. The living room has plenty of space for sofas and is a great place to relax. Light floods through the large southwest-facing bay window and the contemporary cast-iron stove is flanked by fitted shelves and cupboards. The kitchen/diner has been thoughtfully planned with a central dining area and plentiful cupboard and worktop space. Shaker style fitted floor and wall cupboards accommodate integrated appliances whilst open shelving addas practical visual interest. A window above the sink and bifold doors provide garden views and access to the paved terrace.

The first floor is home to two bedrooms, with a further loft room on the top floor. Both first floor bedrooms are fitted with bespoke wardrobes, and the second bedroom and the loft room have aircon units. The main bedroom at the front of the property is a serene space with elegant period proportions and a feature wall, and the second bedroom has delightful feature wallpaper and lovely gardens views. The loft room has built-in eaves storage and two large Velux windows, and is suitable for a variety of uses.

Outside the walled garden is divided into two discrete areas – a paved terrace adjacent to the house, and a gravelled area with some planting and a shed. Enclosed on three sides, the sheltered terrace has the feel of an outdoor room whilst the back half of the garden has an open aspect with attractive trees beyond.

a word from the owner...

"We have absolutely loved living on Century Road over the past 8 years. It’s a really friendly street - We know all our neighbours really well, often having dinner at one another’s homes and have formed wonderful friendships. We have loved living in this area and have taken full advantage of the cafes, breweries, yoga, climbing wall, all within a 5-10 minute walk from our house. We love the plethora of local parks including the Wetlands and Lloyd Park. Not to mention having the Victoria Line an eight minute walk away with a fifteen minute journey to central London."

Our Local Guide:
Walthamstow

Century Road, Walthamstow — Stow Brothers

Situated on the edge of spacious Epping Forest, but every inch urban London, Walthamstow is one of those rare locations where you can have your (artisan) cake and eat it too.

Built from proper East End roots, the rapidly expanding community has transformed the area into a buzzy, creative hub and destination in its own right, making Walthamstow’s close proximity to central London less relevant than it perhaps once was (although if you must leave, it’s only a short hop on the Victoria line or London Overground). In fact, these days you’re more likely to see daytrippers coming into the area, keen to sample its varied offerings of food, drink, culture and green space. However, lucky locals get the added benefit of being part of a genuinely cheery community – and amongst the first to know about that latest hot new opening.
