a word from the owner...

"We love living in this house. It’s hard to believe we’ve been here for six years, after moving from the village borders wanting more space, but not the Village price tag. We love nothing more than sitting in the kitchen soaking up the evening sun. Carnarvon Road itself is a pretty quiet road and is home to a mix of young couples, families and those who have lived in the street for years. Our neighbours are great, too. Not only are we a 15 min gentle stroll to Walthamstow Village, but we’ve also got the hustle of Wood Street and Francis Road/Leyton Village in easy walking distance. Hollows Ponds and Epping Forest - our slice of countryside life - are only a stones through away. When you’re there, it doesn’t feel like you live in one of the busiest cities in the world. Travel wise - we’ve easy access to both the Victoria and the Central Lines which get you into central London in 25 mins - overground lines and access to plenty of buses which go in all directions and with the M11 close by, its pretty easy to get anywhere."

Our Local Guide:
Leyton

Carnarvon Road, Leyton — Stow Brothers

Assured locals barely bat an eyelid when the national press dub Leyton one of ‘best places to live’ in London – it’s been a regular feature since the 2012 London Olympics regeneration, but the area’s constant evolution means even frequent visitors can get taken aback by just how much it has going on.

With the lively cafes on Francis Road, the bustling High Road, the family-friendly footie action and easy access to the Olympic Park, Leyton can often feel like a city within a city. What’s more, these various layers work together to create a balanced community that comes free of any pretension, so even newbies can find themselves having a natter with the locals while they explore Leyton’s latest delights. It’s an easy reach too, with the Central line connecting Leyton with the city to the west, and leafy Essex to the east.

Transport links

There’s no ‘late’ in Leyton thanks to the excellent transport links. Leyton tube is on the Central line with direct trains into the City and Central London, while Leyton Midland Road is handily placed on the Overground line, as is the new-ish Lea Bridge station.

Great Pubs

Whether you want a quiet pint in the sunshine or a night of banging tunes, Leyton has you covered for pubs. With The Leyton Star, The Coach & Horses, William the Fourth, locals and visitors are spoilt for choice.

Plenty of period property

Leyton’s amenities might be largely new additions, but a lot of the property is gloriously old. Victorian and Edwardian houses are plentiful - including budget-friendly ‘doer-uppers’, and the wide tree-lined streets add further appeal.
